ever since battlefront II came out and i have been playing online mostly but recently i have been playing the single player games. i was playing the story mode called RISE OF THE EMPIRE and all was going well until the clone wars ended. then i had to execute order 66. i found myself playing reluctantly with some curiosity. then after fighting normal guards i found myself at the Jedi temple gunning down Jedi and the after killing enough of them i had the option of play as Lord Vader. i chose to, again out of curiosity, and i was now cutting down my fellow Jedi. i must tell all of you that i felt awful doing so. i would like to know if anybody else has also played this level and has felt the same remorse. for now forgive me my brothers and sisters and may you rest in peace.

Well you should feel bad for killing us all! (Just kidding)
Seriously, Karm has the game and i won't even watch it when he plays Order 66.. I odn't think he even plays that one any more

It was interesting, in every Star Wars game I've played I've always fought as a Jedi... it was a very enlightening experience to fight against them for once. Never realised how annoyingly tough to kill we Jedi are! You keep shooting them and the buggers block every shot and keep coming for you!
I'll have to remind myself to be a bit more lenient next time I ignite my saber in front of a squad of clones.

Maybe this makes me a bad person, maybe it means that I'm just as much a traitor as Anakin was...but I really enjoyed the Order 66 level! You run around as a member of the 501st through the decimated Jedi Temple and you just start laying down fire on the Jedi, ducking behind toppled pillars, hiding behind staircases, taking cover behind the chairs in the Jedi Council Chamber. And the Jedi are particularly difficult opponents, because they can take you out with one or two swipes of their sabers.
The Jedi drop down from the rafters, leaping at you from impossible distances, doing everything they can to stop you from raiding the Temple. In addition to the Jedi, (and in a noticable departure from the film), you have to take on the Jedi Temple Guards, which are a lot like the Naboo Royal Guards. Not exactly film accurate, but I'm sure the game designers didn't want the player to have to fight exclusively melee opponents.
As part of the mission, you have to defend the Temple Archives as the Jedi try to destroy them and prevent the troopers from getting hold of the information within. Then, finally, you get the chance to use Lord Vader (the hooded Anakin) and Force run all around the temple, turning on your former comrades. As soon as you choose him from the character selection screen, you hear one of the troopers (in Temeura Morrison's voice, no less) says, "There he is..."
It's a great level that adds to the narrative from the film. And incidentally, no younglings are harmed in the process of the level, so nothing to worry about there. It's a satisfying level because, up until that point, the Clone trooper keeps referring to the fact that "The Jedi never saw it coming," so the level serves as something of a payoff for the player.
Well, that's my two cents...hopefully I haven't just done something to get myself excommunicated from the Order!

I agree Seda, we always look at how weak the storm troopers and rebels are in the movies but once you lose a lightsaber and get a blaster, you learn what its like to be a star wars soldier.

After reading about this-- I was thinking of maybe getting Battlefront 11. You've shown me that I wouldn't like this game at all. It was bad enough in ROTS to see Jedi die. I couldn't do on a game.

Yeah, you can just skip the 501st Journal part and play the rest of the game's sections for many many hours.

I really like playing the game. Not too happy about the order 66 part but then again it was a tough level to beat. Now I am stuck at trying to get to the queen on naboo and that's ruddy hard. But for the most part I play online battles.

I'll be getting the game for Christmas, and I'd like to play as Ki-Adi on Mygeeto pretty much first thing, if not Solo himself, or perhaps Chewbacca. I know about the timer. Let's say I don't make a single kill. How much time will I have if, say, I kill one troop every fifteen seconds? Every ten? Sorry about all of the questions, but some friends and I have discovered that that's one of the only ways to not go insane before getting the game Sunday: by obsessively talking about it at any moment possible ;D ;D ;D ;D.
Also, I regret to announce my guilty pleasure in looking forward to the Knightfall level. First of all, I want to see what those poor souls in Jedi Outcast are going through against me as Kyle Katarn, let alone the whole Temple! Also, I want to explore the Temple a bit, which I suppose could be done in Instant Action.

You have quite a fair bit of time before your hero character "dies". If you play instant battle though, you can change the respawn timer to 0 so it wonmt matter.

So...what does that mean by 0? You mean I can be a Jedi for the whole battle?!
