Wow, cool! Personally, I'm more the X-wing type of person. For a while I actually wanted to build one in my own backyard, but the fact that I'm still living at home is a major obstacle. My dad was in welding for fourteen years, but think how much a thing like that would cost! Maybe I'll just start collecting refrigerator boxes and use those... Then again, there's the rain factor...

You people make me so happy... I've tried making a 2/3rd scale R2 dome for my truck and it has been left untouched in my garage for months now. I've also considered making a full size or possibly half size JSF but never set out to make any plans. I never finish anything

I just never seem to finish anything I start... like my jedi costume for example. Got a spify robe, some black boots, and a bunch of decent fabric... But whenever things like this pop up and I am reminded of my plan I end up working on it, so maybe (someday) I'll have something completed

After the Midwest Base RL photo shoot, I am insprired to make a -- ahem -- non-funtioning droid. That's about the best I could do. Would never be able to figure out the electronics of it all

Well I actualy have made some progress lately... it's nice having a clean garage to play ...er, I mean work in. I finished my little cheap R2 dome, looks pretty good from a few feet away. The closer you get and the more you can tell it was just a first attempt on salvaged light fixture. But today I got my 18" Super Dome (squirrel guard) so I can get to work on an authentic looking R3 dome ;D ***sidenote: I just found this and remembered the others in here planning on building their own starfighter... www.unfinishedsymphony.net/jediheritage/gallery_props.htm that's not movie accurate, but who cares!

Well.... as a teenager I bought an RC robot kit and managed to put it together. It was like an 10" diameter greenish wheel thing. it had two wheels as tracks that went all the way round the circumfrence. each was controlled independantly so you could literally spin it on a dime. Had fun chasing my brother and sister through the house with it for awhile. I think it was a very old Radio Shack thing.......

Yeah we have "Robie the Robot"... my husband won him in a raffle about 20 years ago! And we also have the Armatron. Both Radio Shack products.

I'm jealous!
That R2 unit looks more like R2 than the REAL R2 does! I mean it; the one next to 3PO looks fake!
