Ok I didn't want this staying on the Introduce yourself board since it's way off that topic and I didn't see any other appropriate threads for this but I'm just so d**n excited I have to share the news.
I've just secured Zach Jensen to appear in my film. For those who don't know, he was Kit Fisto in Episode 2. He made the Jedi Master famous for that huge grin and in the first half of 2006 he'll be in Alberta to visit some good friends and shoot part of Episode 3 and a Parsec with us.
We also have the potential to get another Star Wars actress which I can't divulge the info on at this moment but it's big. Like leading role big, hint hint.
Ok I'm done, I just had to get that out in a place where people appreciate that sort of thing.

Great work. resp. Adam Baldwin--he makes a real nasty guy on Firefly and Serenity. JMD

Ok, time for an update. I was hosed on the Adam Baldwin factor. Long story short, his manager handled communication very poorly giving both of us the wrong impression about where we were in the process and asked for waaaay too much money to show up on set for one day and fart around.
So the solution has been to re cast the part. Christian Boeving, a fitness model who has graced several hundred magazine covers and been in films like Batman & Robin and Kingdom of Heaven is now cast for the role. Not only is it a dream role for him, but he's younger and more apt to the role.
Meanwhile exposure has been off the hook. We're going to have an article written about the film for videomaker magazine and soon muscle and fitness will have something on us as well, mostly again because of Chris' involvement.
I'm going to post a call for costumers right now.
There is a sea of costumes we need made for some of the bigger scenes. Smugglers, star pilots, spice miners, deck crew, control techs, riff raff. Male, female, aliens of all different types. These are neccessary to flesh out the Universe this all takes place in.
We have some concept designs to work from presently but originality is always appreciated. We have the resources to make anything possible so exotic and detailed is a good thing.
If you or anyone you know wants to contribute a costume to the film they will receive film credit, and their costume will appear on screen as long as it's of good quality. If they want to make the trip up here to wear it on film themselves, then all the better. When we wrap, they will then get their costume back in the same condition as shipped along with a bunch of goodies. T-shirts, caps, mugs, and a copy of the DVD.

Some of you who were at FilmCon 5 with me will remember Bryan Arendt, the artist responsible for those amazing 6 foot tall by 3 foot wide silk screened banners portraying the most recognizable characters of the entire 6 film Star Wars saga. His work was auctioned off for charity at that con and fetched up to $200 + US for each one. Well we've since brought him on to our team. He'll be designing images for Jim Siokos as Han, myself as Antilles, Aliska and Chewie. Then we'll have those masterpieces turned into banners for live filming and for the theatrical releases. This is the first in the series. Sean Francis as Lando Calrissian. This is only the beginning.

Whoa! Cool poster! I visited the site several times and all I can say is I can't wait! This looks awesome. How long will the movie be? I can't download long movies 'cause we've got dial-up. I saw something about a DVD on the website....?

Yes, DVD will become a priority for us for the following reasons. A) It gives the viewer the chance to see the film in perfect HD clarity on any size screen. B) Surround Sound is a huge part of the viewing experience and will be 5.1 for the DVD. C) Special features. With over an hour of special features including blooper reels, docs, and easter eggs there will be all kinds of goodies that won't be seen on the regular film. Our run time will be approximately 90 minutes from opening logo to end credits. There is way too much going on in this film with two story lines for it to be anything but feature length. With that in mind, downloads will most likely be in a zip folder for quickest transfer but even then with a high speed connection you're looking at 10 minutes. What that would be on a dial up line . . . . well let's just say I could ship a DVD to your home before it ever finished downloading lol. And the next banner is now complete. Jim Siokos as Han Solo. We're going to silk screen these onto 6 foot banners to hang in the theatres where we plan to release it live theatrically. I think everyone deserves a shot at seeing this on a big screen as all true Star Wars films are intended to be seen.

We're aiming to release in January 2007. If it's anything like the beginning of 06 there will be krap for movies in the theatres anyway and when faced with a choice of seeing the missing pieces of the Star Wars saga brought to life for free, or losing 10 bucks and 2 hours of your life to Big Mommas House 3, I think the potential for filling the seats is going to be really good lol.

Actually with so many Calgarians being directly involved such as Michelle Novak, Chris Hawthorn, Raj and Jennifer Gerritson, and of course the dark lord himself, Dave Wilder, I think a Calgary release will be quite realistic. I'll be keeping you guys posted of course.
