I have to agree, if there was a Celebration IV, I'd have to think long and hard before shelling out the kind of money I did for CIII. I don't know how the rest of you feel, but for my part CII seemed much more organized and thought out. I have heard nightmare stories about Gen Con, but had no first hand experience until now. All I can say is that, while I would love to have a Celebration IV, I would hope Gen Con would not be in charge.

I feel the same way, however, I know that we are 2 years away from the 30th anniversary of star wars, so maybe starwars.com and lucasfilm wouldn't mind having a celebration 4 for all of us fans, because it is usually far too long and far too few of times that we fans get to enjoy each others company and dress up in our star wars costumes in public without getting curious stares from people who don't have a great love for this hobby which is star wars.

Of coarse they want to do a CIIII... The money is GREAT! but... The general Reviews being "I had a Great time seeing all my Fellow Jedi, but CIII was...(insert negative comment)", and along Those lines...

And in Closing...Hang the C4 idea! It's OVER! Now A '30 years of Star Wars' Con is Something to Hold near to the heart, Free of Gen Con's 'Old Ways'. 2 years is enough Time to, Get Organized, Take control, and Do It!
Re; 'Celebrations', Let's call it Finished, and let us all look Forward to a less tarnished Future, room for Newer & Better Star Wars Memories. M/M

The thing is why do we need a celebration 4 to get all of us together to meet at a convention. We should all decide on a state and place to rent and do our own celebration, we are the fans and we are many and we can do it! Well TJA will have to be consulted i am sure but i dont think if it is possible ,which i think it is, we shouldnt consider it.

I have been hearing for months that there is talk of a CIV being held in 2007 for the 30th anniversary, so its no suprise to hear of it. Yes the lines sucked, but I had more fun hanging out with the friends I made then anything else.
You should all go to DragonCon, no lines other than registration...lots of costuming goodness and it is yearly.

Bill heard Sansweet wanting to do a Star Wars convention in 2007, which makes it 30-year anniversary since ANH came out in 1977. JMD

ok, Dragon Con is a given. I was there 2 years ago and it was alot of fun. This time I will know more what to do and what to look for so it will be even more fun...but get your tickets and reservations early. This time out I shall be staying in either the Marriott or the Hyatt...No more walking 6 blocks to the show.

No Dragon Con for me ......
And we tried to have an "Assembly of the Assembly" last year...but most of the members could only afford to go to one long distance Con and chose Dragon Con....

Can't afford Dragonc on this year--the termites took $870 today to vanquish them as was. So I'll just sit it out this year until 2006, besides I'm on committee of a local Richmond con as is Bill, that premieres next April by looks of it. We already got Terry Brooks as Author GOH. I doubt anyone would miss us anyway. Who miss me? JMD

DragonCon might be hard for me to get to. It's right when school starts. But maybe!! I should be getting a job over the summer, so I'll have plenty of money for all my Con needs!
And yes, a 30 year celebration of Star Wars would be awesome....it's a scary thought to think how old I'll be if there's ever a 50 year one.

Given the negative experience of a Gen-con run CIII, I'll not go to CIV.
I'd much rather see us decide to regularly gather at a better run con, such as Dragon Con. I won't be there this year but maybe next year. We could really make an impact on the Matters of the Force panel track.
