Sadly enough, there shall be NO Celebration 4. This was the last of the large Star Wars conventions. Since there will be no more Star Wars movies ever, that is from Lucas himself this past Saturday at CIII. So, since no more Star Wars movies, ergo, no more Celebrations. I am truly sorry to break the news to you my friend. But that is the reality of it. I am sorry Believe, I am very sad that there will not be anymore. I had so much fun here at CIII, I did not want it to end, but end it has. Who knows, maybe there will a convention for the 30th anniversary of Star Wars, but even if there is, it will be nowhere near the size and scale as Celebration.

Ah, that stinks! I kinda figured there would be no more Celebrations since there won't be any more movies. Oh well!

There may be no more movies...but, he did confirm a TV series...perhaps there will still be something to Celebrate.

..."Nowhere Near the size of Celebration"
in Yoda Voice: Size matters Not!
So, ...What happens Now? I was born curious. M/M

From theforce.net...
Here's what we've been told officially about the upcoming live-action TV series from Lucasfilm.
* 100 episodes * 1 hour each * based on a spinoff character * Lucas will direct first season * write season one at one time * film season one at one time * takes place between ROTS and ANH
;D yay!

Jason, is there anyway to verify that? I don;t want to get my hopes up I don't want to go to a Celebration to get autographs... I just wanted to be there among fellow Jedi, in costume and acting as such. The CIII diaries here really made me long for such a thing

Warwick Davis also stated .. "See you at Celebration 4"... but...as most things in life.. there are no guarantees... so you just have to watch and see...

The only way to verify beyond what Rick said is to just wait and see, but he pretty much stated that we have to celebrate something. So yes get your hopes up they are too much a success to stop now and the new TV series live action and clone series are too anticipated to just end at episode 3 i just wish they were doing a little closer to me Jason

I'm back from CIII, doing mounds of laundry before I take off tomorrow for Salt Lake City for genealogy and CostumeCon this weekend. Yes, I am crazy.
I'm not against the idea of a CIV, exactly. But the organizational deficiencies in CIII are enough to place CIV as a low priority for my future convnetion dollar. In the free market, nothing gets the point across like voting with your wallet. CIII had the glow of the 3rd movie, completing the prequel trilogy, going for it. I just avoided as many activities that had lines at CIII as I could and so had a reasonably good time. But a CIV, especially if it's run by the same poeple is just not something I'd look forward to. I have a better time at the regular SF convemtopms, so I'm going to think about bringing more SW activities there. LACon, the 2006 World Science Fiction Convention will be in Anaheim CA, so there could be a good SW track of programming there. IF fans ask for it. And the CA Worldcons always have media people as guests. Worldcon is twice as expensive for a membership than CIII, but you get four times the programming choices, for 5-7,000 attendees and NO LINES FOR EVENTS!
Some of the guys on the plane I was on had copies of a "Customer Satiisfaction Surveys" from GenCon. I suggest everyone, if you have the form SEND IT IN. If you don't have it, look for it online in any of the SW fan forums. Just the facts and it's safest to avoid too many adjectives.
Hmmmmm, CIII was noted for not having any of the A-list actors as guests. I wonder if they had a bad feeling about it, or if GenCon is just not very good about getting guests. If I want to see any of the actors, I'm just going to try catch their movies/TV and the occassional live performance.
