I've been watching the clone wars cartoon recently... and whilst its generally good, I cant help but feel that it could have been a lot better. What I cant get over is the style that it was done in... the animation is too cartoony. I know that sounds a bit like an oxymoron but I think it would have been a hell of alot better if it had at least been done in an Anime style, or a realistically proportioned style like the Spiderman or X-Men cartoons. The oversized jaws, simple colours and choppy animation makes it look so kiddy, which is totally unnecessary.
Any opinions?

Yea not the best style, but it could have been much worse like "Ed Edd and Eddy". It didn't bother me
The continuation of the Clone Wars cartoons will be anime-ish since Lucas is working on them in his Singapore studio. I was hoping Gennedy Tartakovsky could continue on

ah yes but the style at least is American.
The style is attributed to the guys who made it also made Samurai Jack...
I love the style personally, I never found it choppy at all.

The quality of the animation means nothing to me - I happen to like but past that it's insignificant.
I look at the story and what the characters are DOING in that cartoon. The events and actions are very interesting.
There are some large continuity problems, particularly in season 2 with Anakin and Obiwan. That concerns me some but doesn't kill the series for me.
What I like seeing is Mace Windu taking on a whole droid army and WINNING.
And other cool actions too.

I like the look of it, I've always liked Samurai Jack. What I didn't like was the action... they took it too far at times, like Mace pulling out all the screws to the battle droids and the rediculously high jumps. sure, the Jedi use the force and have some pretty impressive skills, but this was like watching "Dragon Ball Z" or something...
I didn't care to much about the continuity issues, as it's never been a strong branch of the tree that is Star Wars. I liked most of the story arcs as well... over all I'd give it a 7 out of 10 I think.

I liked the style, particularly because I like Samurai Jack. What I didn't like was Anakin's voice.

Yep, sounded like he was acting like a "Gourd" lol then again, it was the same voice actor for the "EP3" video Game and he sounded like crap too

I didn't particularly like either the style of the animation, or the ridiculously exagerated powers Master Windu had... However, I loved the stories, and how it bridged the gap between ATOC and ROTS, like setting up the knowledge as to why Grievous was coughing, and the Magna Guards being able to fight with Jedi... (I watched them all before watching ROTS) My favorite was the episode with Assaj Ventress, especially as it showed Anakin's growing hatred towards Obi-Wan and Master Yoda. When he was slashing at Assaj with her own saber, there were flashes of Obi-Wan and Master Yoda, and as they had no knowledge of the events, I can only assume that in his mind, Anakin imagined he was attaching them... I really wish she'd made it onto the Big Screen (maybe played by someone like Keira Knightly) I rather liked the scene where Padme used c-3PO as a distraction for the cloaked droids (I've always hated 3PO) I thought the scene where Anakin used his artificial hand to slow his fall down the shaft was a 100% rip off of the scene in I, Robot, where Will Smith does the exact same thing (Not that I'd expect Lucas to actually come up with an original idea ), and the bit where Anakin brought the mutated warriors back to their people and the child accepting them, moved my fiance to tears when she watched it.

Kind of off topic, but my boys got up early watch Episode 1, 2 and all 1-25 of the clone wars, then we went to the 12:20p showing at the $1.00 theater, now they are amerced in episodes 4-6 ... I'm not sure they will stay awake, but it has been fun ...

my favourite part in the whole clone wars series is the barris offee ice crystal temple scene not the fighting and all, its just what she says as the saber is being assembled just gives my shivers down my spine "the crystal is the heart of the saber" "the saber is the heart of the blade" "the blade is the heart of the saber" "the crystal is the heart of the jedi" "now barris offee your training is over"
AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGG

The cartoon itself is pretty good but some of the animatics are troublesome.......I don't like the fact that Yoda looks like a cross between a toad and a potato. What makes the 'toon better is if you would just imagine how it woulda looked on the big screen with real actors and great special effects. It's quite easy to see it if you just imagine.
