Got a secondary pair of boots, they are a little dressier looking than my good ones, so, am going to set about the breaking in routine w/ a stop at my shoe repair shop, they need serious arch support insoles (orthotic) and a bit of streching here & there as well as rubber heeltaps, and maybe a little dye on some parts, some of this is cosmetic and some is fit and comfort.

Bumping this, as a reminder to those going to DCon, esp. if it's a first time.

Thanks Nova!
Not the first time for me, but the first time for the Rahm Kota boots.

I have trouble with Moleskin in that it comes off when my feet sweat and sticks to my socks! My newer pair of boots (used, actually but they fit) are WAY more comfortable than both of my black boots (prob has to do with the elastic backs, LOL), but they still rub a bit. I've got a parade in only a week. Maybe I'll try the anti-perspirant trick, then put on the moleskin, then my knee-highs, then my thick socks. WHEW! I'll report back to tell how it worked.

One quick remedy is to put a band-aid on the area that you know the boots rub, like the heels. That generally protects the skin and prevents a blister before it can happen.
