i've been waiting to get some images online...here are my boots.... they are vinyl riding boots....from EastCoast Costumes , an ebay vendor. they come in brown and black. I used nu-life, coffee colored spray on them...they were much more red-brown before...now they are more medium/orange brown. to match my belt. 43 bucks total. What do you think? TND

They look very good, I am sure the zippers make them easy for on/off. Mine have buckles.....they look cool but take time for on/off. Are yours comfortable? Have you wore them for a two or three day stretch yet? You certainly got a good deal on them. One thing though, Vinyl will not breath and could make your legs quite hot in the summer, won't matter except when you wear them for a long time. Might not be a problem though, just a thought.

yeah...i was aware of the heat issue...but since i'm building my first jedi costume, i cant afford an expensive pair now....and i tried and tried on ebay with no success. I could've gotten some leather boots that were much much shorter...but i was looking for height. i think these will work out well. I'll go for a nicer pair later on.

I got mine at Value Village, a second-hand store for those who may not know what that is. I've gotten several pairs of boots there for people. Mine are black leather, and just a few inches short of my knees, but with a vinyl lining for the first few inches, then fake fur for the rest. Very hot in the summer. I've actually worn mine out, since they doubled as my winter boots. The heels are almost too worn on the outsides for me to balance, the soles keep falling off, and the leather is all cracked along the toes.
I got some new boots this winter that I think I'll use for my Jocasta costume, since you can't see her boots anyway. They're just short boots, only a few inches high, and they do up with a buckle that goes around the back of the boot. I still have to get used to them though, I've only worn them twice, but the first time I got very bad blisters.

Now is a good time to look for boot sales, they're mostly on clearance because they want to clear the stores for the spring styles. Sketchers has quite a few styles that might work as Jedi boots if they will fit your feet & legs.

When I was looking for boots, I saw some very Jedi looking knee-high boots on Nordstrom online. But for $150-$200 a pair, I didn't look too seriously. But what made me take a longer look was that they had WIDE sizes. That's always worth noticing.

Lane Bryant & Roamans also carry wide calf sizes and a way less expensive, they have a couple of pairs on sale right now for about $54 to $100. Check their websites.

You may just want to check. They did have like an 11 but they might be too narrow for you
I just picked mine up. They do have the elastic in theback so I can actually pull them all the way up my calves! My other brown boots I have to wear kinda scrunched since they don't fit around my calves. My others are more "Jedi" (have some bucles on them and ornamentation) but these Jesse are more comfortable. Already wearing them to break them in for C3.

Oh! And with allthe discounts on clearance merchandise, they were like $8.50. But I think more markdowns are coming up Wednesday.

Finding ladies boots is not comparison to the difficulty in finding mens. There are so many tall leather ladies boots and although many do not look Jedi like there are many that do........not so for mens.........our options are extremely limited.........feel sorry for us poor men, ladies....
