Thought I'd add myself to the Outer Rim. I'm Kevin from Hamilton Ontario Canada (which is about 45 mins from Toronto if that helps ). If I had to liken my area to an Outer Rim world it would definitely be Hoth. Winters are brutal here (although they can be much worse out West as some of my fellow Canadian Jedi will affirm). I've loved the Star Wars films since I was seven years old. I'm 34 now and busting with excitement over the release of Ep III. I enjoy toy and prop collecting and costuming. I have an interest in things military and I was an Air Cadet in my teenage years. My other sci fi interests include: Star Trek, The Terminator films and the ALIEN series with Aliens being my favourite. I've attended Dragon Con the past two years- If you were there, you probably saw me in my Colonial Marines gear. Kevin

Welcome Ki Vaan....
Hoth....lol...I think of Chicago winters in those terms too...but they can also be on the mild side...
I know that when I am out cross country skiing in winter...with the usual quiet and white landscape, I always think of Hoth...
going to CIII?

Hi everyone- thanks for the welcome! Schph- I won't be able to attend CIII as I won't have the funds- but I will be going to Dragon Con in the Fall. Primrodo- Always a pleasure to meet a fellow Canadian Jedi. And you're right- I am exaggerating a bit about winters here. But this year I experienced my first total "white out". I think it was back in February: The storm hit around noon and they sent me home from work early. When I started driving, I literally couldn't see the hood of my car! I had my front defrost on full blast and my windshield was still icing up! I couldn't tell which way I was driving- whether I was headed for the ditch or into oncoming traffic. The only reason I made it home in one piece is I managed to get behind a snowplow. It took 45 miniutes for what is normally a ten minute drive! Worst storm I've ever seen! It was fun pretending I was on Hoth during winter when I was ten years old- I could do without winter the rest of my days now. So will you be going to Toronto Trek or the SFX conventions in Toronto this year Primrodo? Kevin

You're not the only one who pretended it was Hoth I hope to be at T-Trek Though probably in my Stargate costume and group

If Ontario is Hoth, I suppose the Okanagan is Corellia/Dantooine, which is why my character was born on Dantooine to two Corellian parents.

Hey ive been here a while but haven't posted in this thread before... thought I might as well. I'm from Australia , and it is next to impossible to find die hard SW fans here... don't suppose anyone from the Assembly lives down my way?

Australia? Wow Seda, I guess that is as Outer Rim as it gets. I don't know any SW fans out there, but I do know a couple of "Aliens" fans. As for me I'll be seeing the premiere of Ep III in costume, but I'm not sure if there will be any others in costume going to the same theater.

Impossible to find die hard SW fans in Oz?
I find that hard to believe, since there's a Vader Maker there, Altmans is based there and I know of at least 2 Boba Fett maker there as well... ;D

Heh, I'm sure there will be a spare Sarlacc handy to take care of any Fetts.... those pesky Vaders on the other hand might be a bit more tricky
