CLone wars cartoons....Kit Fisto....underwater usage. Apparently it is a function of how the saber was built.

That was cool. One of my favorite Clone Wars toon episodes. The sound guys changed the sound slightly. Even showed how sabers react to rain drops during Anikan's fight with Assajj. Sizzle, sizzle.

right. I had written a piece of fanfic years ago, before the CW cartoon, and described Anakin in a lighsaber fight in the rain. I loved that scene from the cartoon, it was just what I was seeing in my mind!

Here's the paragraph. "Ga'lena" is an original character of mine... just another jedi in the story.
The midday rain fell hard on the ground outside. Ga’lena gazed out of the third story window, down into the grassy courtyard below. There, in the middle stood the tall, fit figure of Anakin Skywalker, soaked to the skin, practicing a routine lightsaber drill, unhindered by the downpour. But the drill was far from routine when the young, spirited apprentice performed it. The air sparkled around him as his blue blade flashed elegantly, seeming to ignite the raindrops as he twirled it through the sizzling mist in perfect form.
