Help! You hi-res capture people...I'd swear that's just a fold in Anakin's tunic in the parade scene at the end of TPM, but I can't find any images at the end that really confirm it. He doesn't have a braid in the Dressing A Galaxy book but it's what's in the movie that counts.

It sure looks like he does, albeit a very short one. I always took it that he did Here's a picture frm the package for the Jedi Padawan braid from Rubies

Well, the picture from the package looks like that braid was added in. No way did Anakin have a braid like that at the end of the movie. Buuuuut....
There are two shots where Aankin looks to his left where you'd see a braid. One when Obi-Wan first looks down on Anakin when we first see everyone on the stairs. And one at the very end when Padme looks at him. I've looked at it and it still looks like a wrinkle in his tunic on that side....
...but now I've looked at it on my DVD player on my computer and the braid becomes clear on the first shot of Aankin when the camera pans down to R2D2 and Anakin moves his head a little. Otherwise, it does blend into the background.
The only hi-res photo of him that I have in that outfit in Dressing A Galaxy has him without a braid. But as I said, it's the movie that counts. Thanks for looking!

My oldest wants to and has grown his on the left, my youngest has a start of one on the right. My middle son keeps begging me to get my razor out and save his head like Mace.

Hee hee, I shaved my head during the summer last year, and although other people said it looked good, to me, I just didn't look 'like myself' anymore, and couldn't wait till it grew back again ;D

Maybe they used his hair to make an extention?

That's interesting.Or hair mabey from someone else?
I wouldn't mind having a braid but I've never been able to brai my own hair for one. and then for another I don't know if it would show.. I think I will have to get someone from here to help me with that sometome.

I think Obi-Wan gave Ani his old braid as a clip on.

How could he have done that?

Well, remember throughout Episode 1, Anakin's hair length was rather long and shaggy, so I don't see why they wouldn't be able to make a strand of it into a short braid. Although, I don't think Jedi Padawans wear braid clip-ons, as demonstrated in the clone wars DVD, when Yoda lops off his braid, which seems to be a permanent patch of hair.
