So, there was this big auction of Gary Kurtz's memorabilia that ended this week. I didn't pay much attention to it since I can't pay $170K for Luke's original lightsaber. But one thing on the list was "Yoda's Flute" going for $10K.
When did Yoda get a flute? Did I miss something?

if you look closley in esb you can see is flute also called a pan flute.  |

it would be funny if he and Luke are talking in his hovel(Yoda's house) and Luke is telling him something important and he just starts play Some AC/DC & Metallica on his Pan flute.

If the scenes before Luke realizes who Yoda really is could have been extended, Yoda playing his flute (badly) would have been hilarious to see!
Another way to annoy Luke and test his patience with.
"First we must eat!" "A song I have written for strangers I will play!"
Hours pass.
Luke is now on the floor of Yoda's hut, in the fetal position, holding his ears and rocking back and forth...
"Please STOP!" "I CAN'T TAKE ANYMORE YOU LITTLE GREEN RUNT!"
"I cannot teach him... The boy has no sense of music."

I can play the flute! (not Classical, but a Native American flute from High Spirits) It has kept me calm in my Jedi solitude... Why shouldn't Yoda be able to? I'm thinking that Jethro Tull would be more his style. Some of his peices have great flute accompaniments. Then again, in ESB Yoda's lips and tongue were kinda stiff to be playing any music... |
