Really a good question! I know that I heard that Lucas did want people to see that Anakin was at the start of losing his "humanity"...so either answer could be right... He was going for symbolism OR that they either didn't have the technology for the covering or in the case of early "synthflesh"...maybe they were still "growing" it and that a covering was to come later. I am guessing by the conversation between Obi-Wan, Mace and Yoda right before you see that scene that not much time had elapsed....kinda like Anakin got his arm in a hurry and was sent right awat to accompany Padme back to Naboo.

They weren't kidding...got mine at TRU for $9.99....but..by the time I got there at 1:30 on Tuesday, they were already sold out of the widescreen...so I got full screen....
anyone know what the "extended version" is? I saw a reference some where to an extended version...

Umm............ nope! Sorry. But glad you got one of them! I am going to check out K-Mart tomorrow. Hope I get it in Widescreen and they price match it.

I was persistent at TRU and the guys saved me one, the 1st was a fullscreen, then 1 found me a wide so now I have both, plus a vhs, sometimes I like a full, but usually I watch wide.

still have not found my widescreen version. I was at K-Mart last weekend...they had a huge cardboard display of ALL the Star Wars movies...the Original Trilogy in VHS, Episode One in VHS and DVD, and AOTC in VHS and DVD...but alas, all they had left of AOTC in DVD was one full screen.... must be selling like hotcakes!
