I was wanting to find out how many others out there have been known to wear their Jedi Robe out in public on an everyday type of basis.. I have and have gotten awesome compliments about it.. Even from non-star wars types

I haven't yet, but once I have a fleece bathrobe type Jedi robe, I might!

I do at times. Nothing is better against a stiff wind, and rain. I really like to ware it when I have to go to my kids school ... the boys get a kick out of it.

Not often in public with a non-costuming event.
In my friend's house, they've the air condition VERY cld so my over robe gets used ona daily basis.
The tunics and such I have worn in a non-costuming event. I've gotten lots of compliments off them.:-) Espcially on the cream colored embroidered japanese haori.

I made a winter coat out of dark brown melton wool. It was made from the same pattern I used for my Jedi robe but I made the hood and sleeves slightly less extreme. I wear it all winter.

I haven't yet, but once I have a fleece bathrobe type Jedi robe, I might! Then you're supposed to say... "Hint, hint, Leda!"

Well, not really "in public" per se, but when I do put it on for Nerf to try to get photos (which is more often than you think), I get some very strange looks from passers-by on my street. I always have them taken outside

No, Actually, It's Hint, Hint to Nova! I have it cut out & partially together, but haven't had time to finish 'cos of con & yule revel, but will work on it next week. Then will need to do fitting, but most likely do that there. I wear costume & robe all over the city if I feel like it, when ever. My 1 winter coat is also very similar to a robe in style, but is charcoal, I wear that as well. I live in NYC so anything goes.

The only thing from my Jedi Outfit that I have worn outside a non-costume event are my Jedi Boots. But then those can go with just about anything really.

LOL! I was trying to be veeeeeeery subtle. Did it work? ;D Yup! Actually I can't wait to start sewing again... these classes I'm taking are really overwhelming... I'm reaching maximum fact absorbtion, and I'm getting writer's block to boot! I forgot what it was like to be in college! 2 more weeks left in the semester and I'm counting down! I'll also need to make myself some cozy fleecey Jedi Jammies to go with the robe! Great for watching AotC late at night by the fire with a cup of hot cocoa! Mmmm... *slap* back to work, Leda!

I have worn it out....just to embarass my friend Sue....
I was heading to a costuming event...but wore the whole costume and forced my friend to go not only to breakfast with me in costume....I also hauled her into a Target store to do some Star Wars toy shopping....
At first she refused to walk next to me...then when she saw the smiles on the faces of the other patrons....we both got a pretty good laugh....and a lot of stares....
Mainly though..I wear it only to costuming events and possible stopping off for gas etc on the way to and from....
I don't think that I would wear it everyday though...cause it brushes the ground...and I am afraid it would pick up too many nasty things from the street and ground if I wore it too much...

Since I finally started actually wearing my costumes to conventions (I started making them three years ago but never wore them anywhere until GenCon Indy this year), I do look for excuses to wear my costumes whenever possible, but I don't wear them as an everyday thing. I'm not quite that brave! If I don't have an excuse to be wearing them, like going to a Con, I would be to embarrassed to just wear them as clothes, I think. I sometimes wear my Doctor Who scarf out, but that's not quite as striking as Jedi robes. And I don't even wear my scarves out that much. Though I did go to a Ren Fest dressed as the Doctor a few months ago, along with some friends dressed in renaissance clothing. Since the Doctor is a time traveler, I acted like I had just traveled back to the Renaissance.

But, then I'm the one who went grocery shopping in a Burgundian with a 30 yard hem, it was at 1 end of the aisle & I was at the other. I was coming home from an event (wedding) and had to get CATFOOD! Monday, I am taking my very silly Yule Garb to work, my boss said he will take some pictures with our decorated giant gargoyle, I am thinking that I might wear it to the theatre christmas party that evening, holly printed italian rennie! ;D!
