Mynn, you might want to look for a cabretta leather, pigskin is usually seuded and this is definitly not it is a smooth finish, not a split sided leather. There are soft shirt cabretta leathers that are slightly textured and are light weight enough to work really well as tabbards, and they look like they are lined to me as well, at least the edge is turned, but I would line it if I was going to do them. I think you'll find that pigskin is a little to heavy a weight to have any motion to them, and they definitly should be fluid and move, at least they do in the film. Primrodo, you and I are essentially describing the same thing on the cape, but using different terms to do it.

Nova...ah ok...Just the whole split thing was throwing me off, as I've seen some really bad Anakin cloaks that were just splits As for the tabards, they really are lined with leather, leather on both sides.

I agree, that's how the tabbards looked to me.

Darn those old image links.......does anyone have any pics or references for Anakin's robe/cape in ATOC? I have some fabric that would be perfect for that style.

Thanks! Mmmmmm, it's not obvious at all how those front pieces are attached, but I think they would have to be double-layered, just as a counter-weight to the rest of it to keep the whole thing from sliding down off the back.
