Big news for me! I have hair!! Woo-Hoo!! ;D ;D ;D Went "hair shopping" last week and ordered a custom-made piece and I got it today. I am amazed at how much more confident I feel. I actually walked through the mall and didn't feel like people were staring at me. One bad thing is though, it has more gray in it than my real hair did, go figure. LOL Bad thing is, I lost my digital camera at Christmastime and haven't been able to find it, so all I have to take pictures with is my camera. And I don't know if I can upload those pictures, but I emailed them to my email and here's the link for the slideshow. I hope it works. pictures.sprintpcs.com/share.do?invite=2EfrJC5N77kBSUQh0ovh&shareName=MMS&messageState=RETRIEVED

Oh, it came in long so the stylist had to cut ot for me and it has combs that actually clip in. Its not a full wig, just a scalp piece really with synthetic hair (real hair was way too expensive), so I have to be careful NOT to cook with this on since the heat and steam will damae it
Gee, just what I need -- anotehr excuse not to cook

Cor, it looks great. But, I met you with no hair, so now you don't match my image of "you"!
I'm with Xana. How is having an iron-clad excuse not to cook a bad thing?

Never thought of it that way. Now people who only know me bald will not recognize me, hee hee. And I never said having an excuse not to cook was a bad thing... ... but I think Nerf thinks so

Not a possibility in the center area there. I haev hair around the outside, but the center where the graft was actually placed will not grow hair ever -- there are no follicles So the hair I bought is basically liek a toupee... just the middle. All the sides and back is my own. It is held in by combs that also clip down, which is good since my real hair is very fine and hard to keep combs in Kind of like this: www.hair-replace.com/integrations.htmBut i have no hair at all on top, about a 3x5 or so area

I mean maybe you can eventually grow your own hair piece to use instead of the synth hair....like when your hair gets longer, you can cut some and have a piece made out of it... just a thought. Anth the burning the synth hair while cooking reminds me of the time that I melted my Lee Press-on nails in the toaster.
