I know that this does not directly pertain to the Jedi Assembly, and I'm not sure it belongs on this board, but here goes:
I know that the Assembly has a flyer, and in the other thread Master Xana said that it is approved by Lucasfilm. I've designed a flyer for my local costuming group, and was wondering how exactly I can go about getting this approved. Also, it's very crude, and I was wondering what template you used to create yours in Microsoft Publisher.

Don't know the answer to which template for the TJA flyer.
However, personally, I don't use ANY of the loaded templates with Publisher. I always go with blank versions of the formats. I don't like any of their designs or color schemes. I have plenty of my own graphics and just go with them.

For getting it approved, try Steve Sansweet. He's in charge of Fan Relations. You might find his e-mail on StarWars.com somewhere.
I can't help on the template thing, sorry. The flyer design I have won't open properly. I'll have to e-mail Shoshana for a better copy.

Xana, I had no luck with StarWars.Com. His email was nowhere to be found; I searched "steve sansweet email".

I looked around on the LucasFilm website and found:
How can I get approval to use a photograph or film clip? Lucasfilm manages the rights to films in the Star Wars saga and the Indiana Jones trilogy, as well as Tucker: The Man and His Dream, Willow and Labyrinth, and requests related to those films should be directed to Lucasfilm's Publicity Department. Though elsewhere they also say they will accept inquiries from the "accredited media"
He writes a collecting column for the Insider and the email address for the column is scouting at insider.starwars dot com

I think you can find Mary Franklin's e-mail on the Bantha Tracks section. She also handles fan relations (moreso than Steve does these days). She's approved all media for my FanForce group.

Back again after a mass loss of interest in my group (we are going to recover), myself and the three remaining dedicated members (which was 11 or 12 before) are going to create a new flyer. If I were to get the insignia off of an unofficial site, I guess I'd have to get their permission, right?

If someone there designed it, then yes. I'd say so. What happened to your club?

Most kids here in Smalltown, USA aren't true geeks. They only liked Star Wars when everyone did: around Revenge of the Sith. Most of our group is teenagers, so when the excitement stopped, so did the members. We're slowly recovering, but I'm still a bit ticked about the fact that they were only geeks when it was cool...isn't that defeating the purpose of being different?
