This is a poem I wrote last year...it's how I'd like to imagine that Obi-Wan would remember Qui-Gon...
REFLECTIONS
Green light-saber In sturdy hands, He guided me and taught me, With kind words and compassion, The flowing power of the Living Force.
With far-seeing eyes, And a free spirit, Yet grounded in the here-and-now, He took delight in the small, insignificant things, And respected all life, No matter how worthless it seemed To those around him.
Strong yet gentle, Some called him maverick and rebel, Because he followed his heart, Wherever it led him.
Comrades in arms, Master and Padawan, We fought together side-by-side In Jedi brotherhood.
Cut down by red Sith blade, I held him in my arms As he lay dying. And as I wept, He tried to comfort me.
I felt his mighty spirit leave His broken body far behind, To soar on silver wings Within the Living Force, Which he had humbly served All the days of his life.
If I listen carefully, I hear his voice, As he speaks to me In hushed whispers On the wind.
And I feel his presence, As he stands beside me. Guiding me, As he did before.
My Master, Father, Friend... Neither Sith nor death Can truly separate us,
Now as one with the Force, He will live forever...
