So i go to the midnight showing of episode 3 right waiting in line for like 2 hours and some guy starts walking by saying that no lightsabers were allowed in the theatre. of course me being dressed up and having as part of my costume i wasn't going to stand for it so i slid it towards the back of my robe out of sight while everyone else walked obediantly back to their car to put them away. So i snuck it in to the theatre and got my seat and my friend who had also snuck his in had a lightsaber duel right there on the steps of theatre 1 of course we made it pretty short because we didnt wan to get kicked out. was anyone else not allowed to bring lightsabers into the theatre?

The theatre here had only one rule ... no lighted sabres during the movie ... I'd say over 70% of the people there had some sort of light sabre.

It's a saftey issue I suppose. I didn't have a problem locally. Not many people had sabers at the midnight showing I went to, though.

Only about 20 or 30 people at my midnight showing were even dressed up to any degree. Of those, most had plastic Hasbro lightsabres. I saw one other hardware sabre like mine. There were no EL blades at all. No one seemed to have a problem with lightsabres.

I walked into the theatre where I saw RotS with my Lightsaber on my belt, and had no problem. However, I was the only person in costume in the whole theatre!

There were only about six or seven people in my theater in costume (myself included) but nearly everyone had a lightsaber of some sort. Most were the cheap hasbro ones, but there were one or two with EL, and noone said anything at all. Actually there was a guy from one of the local radio stations there and he actually had a couple people come up and duel before the movie began. He didn't do that long though, simply because the cheap sabers break so easily.

The theatre I went to only allowed lightsabers that had blades that could retract into the handle. So in other words the only rule was no parks or lighttech sabers.

The theater didn't say anything about lightsabers at the midnight showing I went to. Lots of people had the Hasbro toys. I and only a couple of other people had FX sabers and I also had my EL saber, too. I took the batteries out of both of them before going in to see the film; I didn't want anything going off during the show.

My theater also said that sabers that could retract their blades were allowed in the theater.. Me and one other person had FX types and they wanted us to surrender our blade part at the front box office saying we could get them back after the move! Yeah.. right..like we were going to let that happen. We took the blade off and put them in our cars. Ther we a few ppl that had the saber/blade that you could get from Borders too.

At my showing, there were only about eight people (including me as a Jedi) dressed up, and I was, not to brag, but still, clearly the best one. There was a Leia and Vader...in their graduation gowns lol. There was Indiana Jones who was pretty good but lacked a hat, had a cloth jacket, and had Grievous's blaster for a gun. There was a Sith though, who had a Vader Force FX and a cool black jumpsuit. Naturally, having my Anakin Force FX, I began a gentle-but-real-looking duel with him, almost hitting my friend in the face, while the whole theater looked on minutes before the movie. They didn't give us any trouble with sabers at all, and the aforementioned Sith had his on for about one-third of the opening crawl.

Living in a city of over 150,000 I found it strange that I was one of only five people in costume for the midnight show. Mine was by far the best which was even worse. I was very disappointed that a city this size had very few enthusiasts and that the people who showed up in costume put no effort into them.

I wore my long, leather coat. it looked at once Jedi and bad(another word for donkey) smuggler. I think if people had lit sabers during the film they would have had them broken and shoved someplace uncomfortable by the surly British crowd. I was the only one who clapped.
