Wow, I can't believe I missed this thread before, well, I guess I'd better say a bit about myself I'll be 27 in October. My fiance and I have been together for nearly 11 months, engaged for 6 months, and have a flat together. I'm a self-employed art consultant and do design work and art in just about any medium. I don't have any brothers or sisters, infact, I am the only onlychild in my family history (both sides) as far back as we can tell. (Even my older cousin now has two children) However, my fiance has a step-brother and step-sister. No one really likes her step-brother, but her step-sister is lovely, and the little sister I'd never had. Ethnically, on my dad's side, I'm Irish/Welsh (although the family is directly decended from St Augustine, so probably some North African blood still there somewhere) my mum's side is Austrian Jewish that moved to the UK before WWII. My fiance and I are planning on getting married in 2-3 years once we've saved up for it, because we want to get married in Portmeirion (where the TV series The Prisoner was filmed) and I'll be taking my fiance's surname. We don't have any children at the moment, but would like some in the future, and have already decided to name a daughter Lilith (from Cheers, of course) and a son Adam or Luke.

Wow Tanzan... sounds like you've got some nice plans ahead of you. Interesting that you are taking you fiance's surname... I know two men that have done the same. It's neat!

You'll probably get a lot of people here telling you to name your son Luke... I say name him Anakin.

Thanks Leda My fiance's surname is double-barrelled because when her mum remarried, she wanted to have the same name as everyone else in the family, and as her parents have welcomed me into their famiy so much, and been more supportive of my business plans than my own parents, that taking her surname seems the logical thing to do

Single...and loving ti! I would want to get married some day, and I want kids someday. I've already got a name planned for my firstborn: Lucas Windsor. (Windsor is an old family name) Of course if I end up having a girl first I'm in trouble, LOL! Oh, well. That's some time in the future. With college taking up most of my time I haven't the time for romace.

And since this thread was begun over a year ago now, has anything changed for those who posted a while back? New kids, new sigothers, and so on...
As for me... I'm 36, married for 7 years, and don't have/won't be having children. Lots of pets to fill that space though. Four cats, three birds, and a tank full of fish.
Hi everyone! (wave)

Cool! I'll be married 22 years this June. Oli works in the fashion industry in New York, on the tech side of things. I'm "inbetween jobs" right now. I'm very picky about jobs these days. I prefer being independent in that department. Freelance. But self-promotion isn't my best skill, so Houston, we have a problem. My son Andrew (20), Anim8r here on the boards, is leaving for college (California) in August, and Adam (17) is leaving for college (Florida) in October. Anthony is the "baby" at age 13.... he's in 7th grade. They like their eccentric mom! ;D
