I might make a costume--can do McGonagall, since I can look like her and do the voice (had to do it for my theatre group some years ago). I like Tonks though, even though I am way older than her. Lately though hard to do any costuming with so much writing. Will be helping with local bookstore here in their party as I always do. As for the film, looks like won't be until Friday for us. Bill's on call and just best time to see it. Tried to win tix to see it tonight at Imax, but neither of us did. Oh well... JMD

i just got back from the movie....dear god that was awesome, the ministry scenes were mind blowing, though there were some parts in the movie that were no where's near accurate to either the book or video game, but good god the effects were good.....in total shock....

I had a friend watch it in IMax...from the Thestrals to the end fight is apparently shot in 3D for it.

I remember the 3D starting as the trio entered the ministry. Those scenes were awesome. For excitement, it rivals the Anakin-Obi-Wan battle at the end of EPIII The HP costume troop here in Seattle volunteered at the Science Center IMAX: public.fotki.com/Kait/other_costuming/oop-at-imax/

So...anyone finish the book? I did. I thought she went a bit overboard with killing off characters. Ah, well, still, it was a good book, although a good deal of the deaths didn't have the emotional impact of Sirius and Dumbledore. The first two, not counting the one in the first chapter, though...they hit home.

It did leave one with a bit of a feeling of "Good grief, who's next?" though, didn't it? A few places dragged here and there, but overall I really enjoyed it. I think my husband was the taddest bit disappointed... but hmmmmm... we'll have to discuss it more after everyone's had a chance to catch up! Lala

There is a lot of material in this last book. They will have to cut out a lot anyway, so I think they can take out anything that would put it beyond a PG.
I left the computer off for 3 days to read the book (enjoyed it hugely) and now I think I might want to do Draco's mother costume after all. How weird is that? I wonder who's supposed to play her in the next movie? They only have four major cast members listed for it on imdb.com.

Naomi Watts is slated to be Narcissa Malfoy, according to MuggleNet.com. Really, I'm not sure it'll be that rough to make Deathly Hallows PG-13. I mean, without spoiling anything, George Weasley's ailment in the beginning will be bloody, and a character burns to death offscreen later on....but the fire is seen, and he is seen being surrounded by the flames and terrified.l However, the character who gets burned DID start the fire...heh....it'll teach the kiddies not to play with matches.

We were thinking they might have to change some of the bits with Nagini the snake... off camera, in shadow, umm.... other exit options.... lol
