All of you are in my prayers. If you can spare a moment to say a prayer for my Aunt, her daughter & her family it would be much appreciated. We just heard on Wednesday that my Aunt's 19 yr old grandson was killed in car crash in Texas. It seems he fell asleep at the wheel, possibly woke up & lost control of the car. No drugs or alchohal were discovered. Just a very sad accident . My Aunt is doing ok, though it was a shock to her. She is 75. Her daughter & the brother (17) are having the hardest time with the news. I myself only met my cousin 1 time about 4 years ago.

Jan-Qui, You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
My wife has an interview tomorrow; please pray for her. As I posted last week, my job ends the end of the month. I have nothing lined up so far; I've been looking but no prospects. We hope we can find something soon; otherwise we may have to move back to NY if we can longer afford to live here on our own

I'll be keeping you three in prayer, Jan-Qui, Cem and Mrs, Cem. :-)
The job thing is very ruff in Tampa. My husband got lucky to have the one he does but he doesn't like it.

My wife got the job, she's actually into week 3. I just haven't been on here. Well, I'm now collecting unemployment and looking. So we'll see. But thanks Jauhzmynn, we appreciate it!

Wow, seems like people don't come on this thread too often. I would think in these hard times there would be more.

Well I know I've been absent on the boards here for a while but I'm slowly getting back to catching-up on things. I guess we all sometimes fade out during the off-season. The past year has been a pretty stress-filled time for me. While my company has been doing fairly well and work has been good, other parts of my life have not been so lucky. My wife and I separated last November and our divorce is almost final now. This has been tough on my kids (ages 15 and 17) but we're getting through it. I had skin cancer surgery in late November to remove a spot from the right side of my face. The surgery went very well, but during some routine blood tests we discovered my extremely high white blood cell count of 134,000 (normal is 4,000 - 10,000). Long story short, in March 2009 I was diagnosed with CLL, Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. Never in a million years do you think that kind of thing will happen to you. It's treatable, not terminal, but also not curable. I just completed my 2nd cycle of chemo and I'm doing pretty well, considering. Hopes are high that after about 6 months of treatment we'll have a successful remission. At least I've cleared it with my docs for me to attend conventions this year! A bright point in my near future Of course, as always my thoughts and prayers are with all of you who are having it tough during this economic difficulty, as well as those others who also need medical support. May the Force be with us all, and hope to see some of you later this year around the con circuit!

Oh, my, Darcu. CLL, that's a rough news. So sorry to learn of your divorce. You are in my thoughts and meditations.

Wow, seems like people don't come on this thread too often. I would think in these hard times there would be more. I'm afraid if I posted something I'd be whining all the time. Prayers going out to all. As always we Jedi have our ups & our downs but we keep on moving forward with a positive attitude. A very Jedi way of doing things May the Force be with everyone especially those most in need at this time.

Sometimes threads like this can be overburdened with all kinds of bad news, so I thought perhaps some good news was in order. Everyone's prayers seem to be working very well for me. I haven't had many side effects from my chemo treatments at all. I'm half-way through them now...only 3 more to go...and those who don't know I'm sick usually can't even tell at all by looking at me or talking with me. In short, I'm doing very, very well.
In other good news, I recently proposed to my girlfriend of 1 year, and she said yes! We haven't set any official date yet, but are working on that.
The cons have been great so far this year and we're really looking forward to D*C and maybe a few others this year.
So once again, thanks to all who keep us in their thoughts and prayers. The "Big Guy" is listening and things are certainly looking up!

Just what I said in another thread!
Prayers and thoughts are requested for a friend and a coworker. T. refers to herself as a Jedi-wannabe. She has survived serious cancer but now is about to have a kidney removed on 7/29. It is not cancerous but the damage to it is related to her treatments and surgeries.
J. is a coworker whose young (30y/o) husband, S., was diagnosed with a very aggressive lymphoma. Though the statistics are good in that this cancer has an 80% cure rate, he is in very serious, life threatening condition now. He's had one chemo cycle, has been on a ventilator ("life support") for 3 weeks now; his kidneys have failed and they've started dialysis (removing 60 pounds of fluid in the first days!). J & S have two children under 5.
Thank you all for keeping these people in your thoughts and prayers.

Jedi Kai, I will definitely be praying for your friends. That is a horrible situation they are in, but positive thought and prayers can help them through.
All my best, Chris
