Here comes another one... My sister and her little 9-month old boy really need prayer right now. I can't give you many details for safety issues, but here goes. Thursday we got a call from someone that, due to the advice of Mental Health services, both of them were taken to a shelter for battered women. Both of my parents were petrified, as they couldn't get much more info than that until last night, when my sister was finally able to call. At this point, it looks like her husband is the culprit. She doesn't want to go back to him and wants a restraining order filed. My entire family needs prayer; my sister and her baby for safety, her husband's family for realizing the truth, and my parents for peace. I'll try to give as many updates as I can. As scary as everything that has happened my thoughts and prayers with you. A situation liike that is horriable and I'm glade she decided to go get help for it. Some people do not ever go for help. I have a friend that was/is in a situation like that. I tried to get her to reach out but she wouldn't for many reasons. Some I can't say n here but when I last saw here a few nights ago she is in alot deeper. Her bf broke her ribs and hit her and she told the hospital she fell.. to boot she fell asleep and their son got out and now the bf has the baby for custody.. For my friend I hope and pray everything works out. For you and your family I am sorry that happened but glade she has a sibiling and family that greatly cares for her and that she is now getting help and protection they both need.

I'm very glad to hear that Danine is doing better Man-Jas, and that she doesn't have MS!! I hope that the physical therapy helps with her back pain!
Glad to hear that your mom is okay as well Jaryk!
I'm also glad that your sister is getting help The UndercoverJedi. My mother is a nurse, who works at a shelter for battered women...she sees a lot of terrible situations, but it is good to know that your sister is getting the help she needs. My thoughts and prayers are with her and your nephew.

Well, I need a little prayer too. I found out today that one of my dogs may have cancer. I know he is not a person, but he is my baby. I had to put my first dog to sleep last year because of bone cancer, and I don't think I could handle losing another one, especially so soon after Misha. I will find out on Tuesday...I can only hope it is nothing more than a chronic infection that is causing all of his lymph nodes to be so enlarged.

As my son is fond of saying ..."Dogs are people too" ... I know the love that dogs, and almost any pet brings to ones life ... Your dog and you are in our thoughts

Thank you, everyone, for all your throughts and prayers concerning my sister. We got a call from her yesterday, and it was very encouraging. She's back on WIC, and has reapplied for MediCal for her and the baby. She's also filled out that restraining order. Hopefully it'll go through quick. She wanted to fcome to church with us yesterday, but the shelter won't let her go anywhere where her husband knows where it is until the restraining order goes through. I can undersand that, but I miss her so much. Again, thank you. I'm sure she appreciates your kind thoughts as well. Poor dog! I'll definately add that to my prayer list, Shoshana. We've prayed for all our pets in the past, from goldfish to cats to dogs to guinea pigs. You know, there's a verse in the Bible that says not even a sparrow should fall from the tree that God dosen't see and care about.

Umm. I'm not good at requesting things for myself, but this week I'm going to Indianapolis to work on my certification to become a Motorcycle Training Instructor, it's a make or break kinda thing this week and I've wanted to do this forever. So, I'd just like some positive thoughts headed my way. Thanks

Good luck with your test. We definitely need more motorcycle instructors!! On the dog front, Cocoa's biopsy came back inconclusive, so he will need surgery to get a better sample of his lymph nodes for another biopsy. His blood work was normal though, so it is not due to an infection. Doesn't look good right now .
