Wow... we have 950 members on the message boards! And TJA members are into the high hundreds!
I'm curious how everyone discovered the Jedi Assembly? Who sent you? Was it a business card or a google search that landed you here?
I found us in Feb of 2003, in Bantha Tracks... glad you put that ad there Schph!

Good idea!
JadeDarken (who was the former Wester Order Master, was involved in other Star Wars costuming in WA. and who has since dropped out) told me about it.

A business card I got from the booth at CIII is what brought me in.

I believe that there was a post on the RL message board, but that was back in March of 2002. An old fossil like me, it's hard to remember back that far

I'd always loved star wars when I was younger but had fallen out of touch... then something sparked my interest again and I went to the internet and searched for "Jedi" on Google, and found this site; "The Jedi Assembly". Sounded really cool, so I checked it out. The homepage was outstanding; everything looked so professional. A group dedicated to believing in these heroes; these knights that were the epitome of justice and an enigma based in a fantasy world that I was already so familiar with. I fell in love with the site and with the people on these forums, even though it was quite a while before I posted. My first post was a simple question about D-rings on sabers, and it turned into an incredible display of friendliness as people went far out of their way to help each other, I couldnt believe it. This is now the only forum that I spend my time on, the people here are unlike any other group on any other forum I know. Wow this has turned into quite a rant... nostalgia is great

How did I find you? Well, I was searching the SW message boards in 'Regional' to ssee if there were any fellow High Desert SW fans, and I stumbled across a post as a call to High Desert Jedi. I was exstatic about finding fellow fans. So when I found the link for this site, I clicked on it. The rest, as they say, is history. While I'm at it, I'd like to say thank-you to Syru Skywalker for posting that call on the SW website. Thanks, Syru! If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have foudn this place! ;D

I came across TJA when I was searching goggle for Jedi costumes and another Jedi's web page. I first found this great place around September or October of 2004. I was just absolutely amazed that an entire site was dedicated to the Jedi and the Jedi arts. I wanted so bad to start posting so that I could talk to others like me but I thought you had to be a full member to use the bords and also I was nervous. But once I finally posted everyone made me feel at home and I loved it. And once my costume was complete I joined up and the rest is history. I would never go anywhere else because the web page is so great, the fellow Jedi are so great, and because it has become a home to me. ;D

It must have been in March of this year looking at a search for Star Wars for something or other & simply stumbled into finding out there was actually a club that had all Jedi---boy was I in shock & relief at the same time. I knew I was going to C3 so I made a point of looking for The Jedi Assembly at C3, meeting the members & wanting to join, if it was at all possible. I had heard about the 501st at my 1st Star Wars Weekend in 2003 & did locate The Rebel Legion but I knew nothing about TJA at that time & didn't even consider that there was anything like this out there. Thank the force I found TJA. After I met everybody at C3 I made up my mind to get my 1st real Jedi costume made & the rest is history.

I discovered TJA from a simple Google search for Jedi. I discovered the site sometime in early 2004 but didn't join till I had my costume done sometime near Halloween 2004. By the way don't look at my join date in my profile - for some reason it says Mar 2002...

I am honored that you all have found us!! Wait till you all see the new website!!!!!!! Hey no fair, you didn't answer the gal's question.......... oh wait, nevermind......... guess I can't either......... Well, sort if............ You see, one winter day about 3 1/2 years ago, some nutty guy (just kidding!) from Tenassee started a thread at StarWars.com about beginning a costuming group like the 501st, only for Jedi, and guess who was among the first to answer? And the rest is archived information.
