Might as well post my boys...since I just finally uploaded pictures of them. Oldest to youngest...with the glow referring to what color their collars are. Found the night he was born... Given to us by friends... Given to me by a customer, because I said the very small kitten (now huge) looked like Mogui.

Handsome kitties! The black one looks about ready to swat the one holding the camera.

Loki's the one most likely to attack a lit lightsaber. Though, oddly he's the sweetest of the three...though, due to an infection he had when he was a kitten, his breathing and his 'speaking' sound mechanical.

Unfortunately I just lost my baby this morning after 15 1/2 wonderful years together. Fenway was truly my pride and joy. I even created part of my Jedi name after him... (Whinter FENlynn). He had been sick for quite a while and yesterday his body just started shutting down on him. It just about killed me to have him euthanized this morning, but I knew it was time. I would never want him to suffer. I know I will miss him terribly, every day that goes by. But hopefully, with any luck, I'll see him again some day. So to Fenway I say... "I love you, buddy! There will never be another cat like you!" pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/whinter_fenlynn/album?.dir=/8ad9&.view=t

I am truly sorry Whinter....I KNOW how much you loved Fenway...and how much he meant to you.... I am sorry that I was not around today but I had my big "Frozen Butts" Volunter workday today and have now just sat down after being "in motion" since 3:00 AM... I thought maybe he would bounce back....but...as we talked...I knew that you would know what was best for Fenway.... I am certain that there is no replacing him... Fenway didn't like me...lol...but that was only because he knew that when I showed up at the door ...that meant that "mom" was following Obi-Wan on some darn fool mission......

Thanks so much for your warm thoughts Schph, JediMom and J'aii-Gun. It's definitely going to be sad, and quiet, in our house for a while. However, as you said, I really believe it was the right thing to do. In his own little way, he actually let me know that he was ready and that it was all going to be okay. I spent his last night with us sleeping beside him on the livingroom floor. He wouldn't eat or drink, but every couple of hours he would gather up enough strength to get up, walk a few steps to get to my face, give me a kiss, as well as a few weak meows and purrs, and then go back to his blanket and lay back down. Then he would extend his little paw out to reach my hand as if to say, "it's ok", trying to comfort me. He was certainly one of a kind. At some point I'm sure I will more than likely end up with another cat(s), but Fenway will ALWAYS have a very special place in my heart.

Whinter, I am so sorry! I lost my 19 1/2 year old Jacob in June and I cried at work the whole week when I knew he was dying. (Even my cat-hater boss had sympathy...)
Yes, there always seems to be one very special kitty with a special personality, intelligence, and/or a special relationship to you. I called Jacob "the cat I always wanted" b/c he truly was. Even though I still have three others that I love dearly, Jacob was the special one.
After the pain passes, you will remember him with satisfaction and delight. If you want a good "satisfying" cry (and laugh) as you remember the antics of your old kitty, look for the children's book "Granny Man" by Judy Shachner.
Praying for you, Kryy (and guess where I got the "Jacobi")

Solinbeb,
Love your kitties! I have the same three -- in the blond/redhead color scheme. But otherwise they could be related.
Kryy :-)
P.S. Do they ever use the Jedi mind-tricks on you? "You will not feed me dry food anymore. You will buy me catnip. You will scratch my belly for the next 20 minutes...."

Thank you, Nova and Kryy. How is your kitty doing, Nova? And Kryy..... Yes, there always seems to be one very special kitty with a special personality, intelligence, and/or a special relationship to you. I called Jacob "the cat I always wanted" b/c he truly was. Even though I still have three others that I love dearly, Jacob was the special one. You hit the nail on the head. Fenway's sister (Ashley) passed away 6 years ago of cancer and I had another cat for 13 years before I got Fenway and Ashley. Obviously, I loved them all very much, and was extremely upset when I lost them as well, but Fenway was definitely that "special" one. I'm sure there will be more cats in my future that I will indeed love dearly, but I truly believe that Fenway was, and will always be, my "favorite". And... I'm going to find that children's book you mentioned, Kryy. Thank you.

Aww, I'm so sorry, Whinter. I know you loved Fenway very much! It is something how they tell you they are ready to go. You were a good cat mom and did what was best for him. Chelsea let me know also that it was time. It's one the hardest things to do for them but also one of the best. You want them to live forever! Chelsea will be gone for two years this March. I miss her quite a bit, but it hurts less as time goes on and you will remember all the fun you had with him. And sometimes I understand that they can't live forever. Sometimes....

You were a good cat mom and did what was best for him. Thank you, Xana. That means alot. Sometimes it's really hard to know what is right. It was ahrd for myself to let go of my current kitties.. the FIV was enough that I knew it was only a matter of time. I still miss my trouble trio but now I have a new kitty in my life and he somehow does a little of what all three of my previous cats did.. So I'm starting to love this cat greatfully as the others... I found adopting almot right away also helped the pain.. At least you had Fen for as long as you did. Animals are truly a blessing.
