Next on my list is I, Jedi. Any reviews on that one? I for one liked I, Jedi for the most part. The writing seemed a little sloppy at some points, and Stackpole doesn't write Luke Skywalker as easily as Tim Zahn (you know, 'cause me and Tim are buddies, so I just call him Tim...or Timbo). You'll notice Luke goes back and forth between sounding like Mace Windu and Luke from the movies. Maybe it's me, but it didn't sound very consistent when I would hear the dialogue in my head as I read it. You know what I mean? Otherwise, it's a fantastic book. I love any book that goes into detail about things like lightsaber construction or Jedi anything. Plus I really like Corran (I've read the X-wing series about five times now).

I read it last week...it was excellent ;D I was very impressed with the story, the cast of 'minor' characters he brought from many other books (no big three in this book ;D). Overall a very good read...I'd recommend that everyone read it...it has been getting rave reviews from everyone who has read it

I read the first book, Jedi Twilight, and liked it. It was cool how the author had brought back a couple of charactors from Darth Maul"Shadow Hunter book. I look forward to the other two and what other trouble I-5 and Pavan can get into.
I, Jedi an excellent book. It's from Corran's point of view and shows what struggles someone who's middle aged taking training thinks and goes through. I learned a lot.

I just finished reading Darth Maul shadow Hunter and it was just a great book to read, lots of Jedi values in it and I can't wait to see I five and the son that was given to the Jedi on their own adventures.

Part Three is also out
After the Empire’s bloody purge of the Jedi, one lone Knight still fights for those who cannot, unaware that he’s about to be swept into a cataclysmic battle against the Master of Darkness himself.
Throughout the galaxy, a captured Jedi is a dead Jedi, even in Coruscant’s most foul subterranean slums, where Jedi Knight Jax Pavan champions the causes of the oppressed with the help of hard-nosed reporter Den Dhur and the wisecracking droid I-5YQ. But Jax is also involved in another struggle–to unlock the secrets of his father’s death and his own past.
While Jax believes that I-5YQ holds some of those answers, he never imagines that the truth could be shocking enough to catapult him to the frontlines of a plot to kill Emperor Palpatine. Worse yet, Darth Vader’s relentless search for Jax is about to end . . . in triumph.
The future looming over the valiant Jedi and his staunch pals promises to be dark and brief, because there’s no secret whatsoever about the harshest truth of all: Few indeed are those who tangle with Darth Vader . . . and live to tell the tale.

I have a quick question about this. I know he has a lightsaber but does he use it all the time. Or does he just use a blaster and only save the saber for special occasions.
I was just about to make a post on this, but I saw this first.

Jax has a lightsaber, loses it, get another one... I started Part 3, haven't gotten into it yet...
The timeline errors are driving me semi-crazy, and I'm not usually one to worry about continuity!

But does he use it all the time? I mean if this is after Order 66 then shouldn't a lightsaber flash all sorts of trouble down on him. I just was wondering if he used a blaster then switched to a saber when things got really complicated.

I remember I-5, too, from Darth Maul.
I, Jedi was pretty good. I entered with a weird frame of mind, too, because from this Forum, I was under the impression it was something like an owner's manual for Jedi or prospective Jedi, but it took so long to get to that part where he was willing or able to use that aspect of himself, that I felt let down. Then, after I realized the whole of the story, I felt even better about it.
Corran had three aspects of himself: he's an X-wing pilot, he's a Correllian with a family history in the military (kind of like a police officer, as I saw it, but that might be a bit too simplistic), and, finally, he's a Jedi. So, to bring back his wife, he has to start thinking in a way that will bring her back successfully. At first, he's thinking like a Rebel pilot; that gets him nowhere. Then, he starts using his Corellian police training to be a detective, and that only gets him so far. Finally, the part where I couldn't help thinking of Batman, what with the skulking around at night in his Jedi robe, hiding in the shadows, etc., he gives himself over to the Force, and embodies his Jedi self. Also, it was kind of hard to get into since I hadn't read any of the previous Rogue Squadron novels that had introduced his character, so there was a lot of history of the character that I was totally unaware of. Still, it wasn't half bad.
May the Force be with you....
