Since I saw ROTS I decided it was time to re-read previous Star Wars novels, I have a library of them at home. I'm finding out they're just as good as they were the 1st time I read them. With different insight. I'm not necessarily going in order. I read the Jedi Academy Trilogy 1st to help me cope with what happened in ROTS. I've just ordered a couple of new books that were mentioned on the boards.

Yea I started reading my Jedi Apprentice and Jedi Quest books a month or so befoe ROTS, but I haven't finished them yet. Now I'm reading ROTS novelization which is EXCELLENT!

I'm working on Shadows of the Empire again & got a chuckle out of how Luke felt when he built his 1st lightsaber on his own.

I got a copy of "Splinter of the mind's eye" for christmas. I read this back when I was Junior high. Really looking forward to this one.
Now that you mention it, Jann Qui, Shadows was quite good. Might have to re read that one next.

Shadow is a good it does bridge over from EP 5 to 6. I went back & re read for I think the 2 or 3rd time the Young Jedi Knights--I have the whole set & I'm close to completing reading for the 2nd time the Jedi Quest books, there I'm missing 2 at the moment. For me it's like eating candy with no calories.  |

Aaaaaah, I really enjoyed the Jedi Apprentice books. Guilty pleasure.  The Jedi Quest ones are good - Watson did Anakin and Obi-Wan's relationship very well. I had to get a couple of them on ebay though since they're out of print. Ouch.
I have a few earlier EU books kicking around somewhere but they never made much impression on me. After the prequels came out, some things in the earlier ones look odd. The EU authors just didn't know some things back then. Well, no one knew them.

I've still got 13 NJO books and the Dark Nest trilory to read and then I will have read EVERY adult & kid book out there...then I can start to reread...
High on my list are: JA, Han Solo trilogy, Maul: Shadowhunter and the RC books....

Steve Perry is one of the few SW writers who "gets" Luke (and I know I've ranted about this before, so bear with me). But I really enjoy Luke in SOTE. He's believable, yet still respectable. He still feels like a human being, instead of this wise-beyond-his-years old sage that I can't relate to at all. When I first started poking around this forum and TJA, SOTE and I, Jedi were the first books I started re-reading. |

Oh, to have 9 Million Imperial Credits... If they ever made this into a movie, I could see them bringing in Natasha Henstridge or Rebecca Romijn-Stamos to play Guri.   Both have experience playing lovely, but deadly characters in sci-fi-type movies... |

I mjust picked up 'The Fall Of Diversity Alliance' for the library a few days ago, which is five books in one from the YJK series. Those will always be special to me because Diversity Alliance is the second Star wars EU book I ever read. I LOVE the characters and the story. Right now I'm about midway through 'Diversity Alliance'. I think this will be the twentieth time I've read that one since age twelve! |

I am reading I, Jedi for the first time, and I love the Corran Horn character (sure would like to be that good of a pilot, eh?), but Luke sure leaves a little to be desired. I'm disappointed, but interested to read Shadows of the Empire and a better characterization of him.
Thanks for recommending I, Jedi - very, very interesting and thought provoking. Definitely worth the read.

I started re-reading the Jedi Apprentice series last night! I forgot how good those books were! I read The Rising Force. Unfortunately I've discovered that some are missing from my set.  I'm sure its my fault for not putting them back when I was done with them. I don't think I lent them to anyone.  |

I sold all mine a few years ago, along with my Jedi Quest books, BUT I bought another set of JA books because they are so good! I need to find all the JQ again someday. Have you ever read "Clone Wars: Wild Space?" A lot of Obi-Wan action in that book! |
