I'd like to get this one but haven't had the time yet. I did enjoy the medstar1 bok alot. I almsot couldn't get the doctors' banter reminding me ofthe M.A.S.H doctors' out of my head. I was have expecting Colonel Klinger to come walking about in one of his whacky dresses anymoment.

I agree with Jen-Ru Balon that they seem to be trying to use things the fans would recognize, but that the characters probably would not have knowledge of, the Sarlac could be explained due to them being doctors and having to learn how to treat multiple species, and whould learn of exotic dangerous animals and plants. As for the Noghri, I went back and read the part in th e thrawn trilogy and it definitly sounds like the Noghri hadn't had any contact with the rest of the galaxy until Vader got there. so.....

Yes there does seem to be quite a few references to other sci-fi/famtasy media in this series. I think they are trying to show how "small" the SW galaxy truly is
Fnished Medstar 2. Loved it. Am saddened by the ID of the spy, though.
I really want to discuss Barriss and the Bota but don't want to spoil anyone...

I'm only managing a few pages at a time, no time to read, except on the buis to & from work. But really am liking it, so far.

I know I'm a bit slow at having getting to these books. I'm almost finished with # 2 & have found it to be a bit of a hard read. Parts have been interesting but I've had to push myself to finish. I finally finished it. The ending was much more interesting.
