I've the small Aprentice "Redeamed" figure and his gear looks cool. ALthough I'd have to modify it for proacticality sake and realisticness.
The back of the overtunic has n unusally long back peice.

Going by that concept painting, you might be able to use a pair of Boba's gauntlets and paint them a dark putty grey.

Right now there are no real "official" reference photos available. The closest thing is the clip of him talking to the SA. But in that scene his hair is partly down, he has no bracers, only one hand-guard, has one sleeve rolled up, and is missing one shoulder bell and one tabard/cape, the other tab/cape is tucked into his belt in back. I've kinda had to combine elements from all of the sources so far to get a rough idea of the costume. I was going to wait until the actual game release, and all of it's related media (books, etc) before I finalize the costume design. But as far as I can tell from the clip and the CG rendering in the opening post, he wears forearm bracers and fingerless gloves with hand-guards on the backs of them, rather than one-piece gauntlets. But the game will tell for sure. ~ Koda

Here is a working sketch of the breast plate. It's a slightly expanded view due to the curve of the body and will look a bit skinnier when it's finished, but I wanted to have something to go on when I put the clay to the mannequin. ~ K 3

I sent off the order to my machinist today. Will be getting these parts made... The belly box needs to be done before the chest armor is sculpted, as I will press it into the clay on the model so it leaves a slight depression in the final casting, making it easier to attach. The edge strips need to be done before the arm bracers, as I will use them to thermo-form the sintra bracers. The bandoleer buckle needs to be sent to my leather crafter so she can attach the straps correctly. It is a tad smaller than it should be, to scale the bandoleer to my shorter torso. Also, the boots, belt, and saber have been ordered. There's no going back now. ~ K 3

I ordered the plaster bandages and clay yesterday. I'll be making a plaster mannequin of my torso (front only) and probably separate shoulder cast(s). I plan on sculpting the armor in clay right on top of the "bandage" mannequin, rather than make a body cast from the bandages. I'll try to use more bandage layers where the tabards will be, from the front beltline to up and over the shoulders, to kinda simulate the fabric layers that will be under the chest plate.
The shoulders will be a bit more challenging as Ill need to make two of them. The casting will have a slight under-cut along the edges from the way they angle, necessitating breaking the plaster mold to get them out, so I'll probably have to use the first one to mold the second one.

Wanted to bump this a bit. Don Close from Do-Clo Custom Sabers has completed the hardware/electronics portion of the saber. I still need to put the leather katana wrap on the handle before I can post pics, but from the pix he sent me it's gonna look fantastic! ;D I will post photos as soon as I can. ~ Koda "ItAlwaysStartsWithTheLightsaber" Vonnor

Not much of an update but... I made handequins this weekend from plaster bandages... that I'll be sculpting the handguard armor on top of. I also made a tin mandrel to form the sintra bracers around. I did this type of thing with the bottom part of the Bryar pistol. I'll dip the plastic sheet in hot water, then quickly wrap it around this mandrel to get the final shape. ~ Koda

Weekend update: I made an "armequin" and started on the handguards. These are still rough sculpts but they show the basic idea. In the only canon screenshots the handplates look relatively thin compared to what the shoulder and chest plates look like, so I'm crafting these accordingly. This is also mostly practice for me since it's my first time working with clay (it's kinda fun so far, but tedious ). The basic idea is to get the clay sculpts "close enough" and to leave sharper edges and corners. It's OK to have ridges in the clay but not gouges, as it's not hard to shape and smooth the armor after it's plastic, and sand down the ridges. I found a plastic lid about 1/4" deep and used it to press out a semi-uniform thickness of clay, which I cut to size and slapped on the handequin to get me started. The pencil line on the armequin was drawn perfectly vertical while I wore it, and along the virtual centerline of the arm from front to back. The plan is to sculpt the shoulder bell symmetrical along that line, so I don't have to mess with separate left and right. I can cast one, sand it down and take a mold of it, then cast the other from the first one. Next week, the finished lightsaber! ...and hopefully the "chestequin." ;D (trust me, you won't wanna miss the saber!) ~ K 3
