Okay, I know this has been brought up before, but I have a particular pet peeve... every single harstyle I've seen on female Jedi (or any girl in Star Wars except aliens) requires long and/or thick hair. With my baby-fine locks that just will not do. I don't want a super-short haircut, 'cause that's a bit too permenant, and wearing it loose is just impractical. Any suggestions?

My hair is long, but very fine. For Jocasta Nu, I do it up in a bun as she does on screen. Otherwise, I put it in a poneytale, sometimes all of it, sometimes just part of it (a la Qui-Gon)

My hair is fine, thin, but there's a lot per square centimeter, for now. I've fly-away problems. Sometimes it's loose, orI do a pony tail, a part pony like QGJ's. A bun like Jocosta's if I cna find my bunmaker gadget again. A french braid, regular braid down the back.

When I had hair I liked to do the Qui-Gon ponytail to. Still had teh length, but it kept the sides out of my eyes when I was duelling or having fun

Even when my thick hair was long, I couldn't get it wrapped around my head the way I've seen the Jedi females wear it... so after I cut it shoulder length, I took a plastic headband and spray painted it with a metallic bronze paint (it matches the trim on my prop saber) and I wear that...
Recently a friend pointed out wigs.com, and I'm thinking of getting a long braid to do the head wrap with so I can keep my own hair shorter...

I have a couple of those braided fake hair head bands. They come in different colors and should stay in any thickness hair. I use blonde bobby pins to keep it on nice and snug. In this pcture, I just took the sides of my hair and braided it to keep it off my face. I had no idea it would look good! I'm sure you can braid thin hair into tiny braids or something. That would work! www.thejediassembly.com/members/80599.addn.jpgNova has long, thin hair. She put it in a pony tail, then braided it into two braids. Then she tucked the ends back into the underside of the elastic. It looked very good, and very Jedi! Hope that gives you some doable ideas.

Hmm, these are some good ideas! I've already got potential hairstyles going through my head. Thanks! I'll take pictures when I find one I like.

Even for guys with long hair style can be an issue. It's almost cliche' for a long-haired guy to wear his hair tailed like Qui Gon Jinn. If a guy has long hair he wears it like Qui Gon. If it's lengthy it gets left down like Anakin in Episode III. Not wanting to look common I just leave my long hair down as I did at C IV (I'm obviously the guy on the right in the grey and sage green robes)... For those who follow the lightsabre building community, the guy on the left is Robert Iannaccone of Advanced Light Weaponry. He built the lightsabre hanging from my belt and the custom lightsabre that is currently in the postal system (look in the lightsabre prop forum for pictures of my custom lightsabre).

Ive got hair thats too long to be Obi Wan and too short to be Anakin. Fashion always gets in the way of authentic costuming Female Jedi hair looks to have the same issue as male Jedi hair - the longer it is, the more authentic it looks.

I suppose that human jedi wouldn't fuss with their hair, just let it hang! Of course... then there's Obi-Wan.... they had to brush his hair mid-fight scene! Why? ?!!!!!

ok, I guess we're talking female. I put my hair in a clip in the back... like this-- and I have a padawan braid... to represent that I am always an apprentice of life... learning until the day I die!

The guy who did the Qui-Gon costume at CIV (TJA photo) and DragonCon (RL photo) uses hair extensions that just clip on to the base of the hair and blend in with his own hair.
