didnt know if anyone found this yet or not. .. i'm making the switch from star wars to rennaisance (cheaper, easier, more creativity involved, more events), and in my search for garb, i came across this site. not only do they have first class stuff, but they make jedi things too! and the prices arent bad either. check em out. www.twinrosesdesigns.com/

i'm making the switch from star wars to rennaisance So, no more Star Wars at all? It is possible to do both (I do!). I've known about Twin Rose for a long time, too. However, I'm farely fanatic about accuracy, and they aren't. "by a series of paintings created by Waterhouse" Well, THAT's certainly not a primary source! The Pre-Raphaelites are not a good source for accurate costume. Pretty, but not period. The Greek chiton is OK. Some of the very early things are alright. Don't mind me, I've been doing early period of almost 30 years!

it is possible to do both, but theres more renny stuff ot do around here. in the TJA, theres only 3 jedi in connecticut. i'de be the fourth. and right now, i cant go off to the surrounding states to do the off hand convention, with school, and work. i also know a few people involved with the local renn faires, so i can get a easy foot in the door(just have to work on my accent and grammar).
and i'm not one ot join the rebel legion or the 501st either, becuase storm trooper armour just makes my hips look SOOOOOO big.
plus i find jedi costumes ot be a tad limiting. you can do different fabric textures and such, but as for colors and different styles, the options are limited. with renn faires, i have waaaay more options ot acessorize, and whole different periods of dress to delve in and experiment with.
plus theres alot more reference material for renn garb; i hate trying to work from screen shots. and in the renn world, well, forgive me if i offend kia, but garb nazi's are taken less seriously, and as agreed on by many forums, are to be enthusiastically ignored; a guild wont deny my application if the lacing on my shirt isnt period.
plus i get to keep up with my archery skill. i'm looking into picking up a nice 72" red oak english long bow, and have plans for a hip quiver/sword scabbard in the works.
i'll stick around here for sure, but to be honest, i find i feel much more at home with the weight of cold steel on my hip, rather than the light thump of a fancy flashlight.
