Nice! I never thought about just using PVC pipe.

Cool... I never thought of using pipe either. You should give it a head!

Looks great! But don't use a sack. Do you know how to make a duct tape dummy? Here are some reasonable online instructions for one, though I've never needed 4-6 rolls of duct tape for it. 1-2 big rolls is enough. There are probably other sites with similar instructions. This is an old technique for making a dummy of yourself for fitting clothes.

ani, question is...who do i trust enough to cut me out of the duct tape? just kidding...good idea...i guess i could just drape the ducttape dummy over the pvc pipe.
leda, what did you say about giving my mannequin head? sorry..bad joke.

Yeah I always think those little stand ups for costumes looked good.

I guess you have to sacrifice a shirt or something when you do the duct tape... It might be painful, otherwise.
How did you get it to
hold its form?

yeah, leda...i sacrificed that green shirt...it was in good shape but for some reason i've always hated wearing it. The dummy is stuffed with newspaper. some people use cotton batting or pillow stuffing material, but that costs money and i finished building this on a sunday evening...so still had the BIG sunday paper to use.

Cool. I definitely need to try that. I really need a mannequin of myself to make better costumes. Especially when it comes to hemming.

i built mine mostly for display purposes, but i found myself using it for a sewing dummy when i started putting my xwing flightsuit together.
