Man you didn't have to do that! But it will be definitely appreciated! I don't want it to feel like I am begging money from everyone here.. I am not. You guys are a BIG support to me already by just letting me vent! I need this outlet too. And as a distraction from what's going on.
I am getting nervous now. I was doing some research on the web and found a blog by a guy who had this surgery for a malignancy and his head was all wrapped up in a mesh-like net (eys, nose, mouth exposed) to keep the bandage in place. Yeesh. That frightened me to think about for some reason. Although the doc did warn me I'd be "wrapped up like a mummy", I expected just the top of my head.

This is just so awful. Yes, it's good that it's not the bad kind of cancer, but yeesh!!!!!
Give serious thought to getting Tanthos's razor and shaving all your hair off, so you don't have to wash and risk opening the wound! Just cover it up with a wig, or even a scarf. The savings in pain and wound care would be worth the loss.

Stay strong. Keep the Faith. remember we reach the mountaintops by travelling through the valleys.......

It's nice that you have the ability to document it, Cor-Al... you never know how many people may be looking, and learning! It's a gift, really. And it could save someone.

I will be updating the blog as soon as I can after he surgery, hopefully with pictures (not of the surgery, but of how I look). I hope to help someone else out who may also be in my siuation and wants to know what to expect. I really have no idea. No one told me how much hair I would lose, if I will be under local or general anesthetic or so many different things. So keep checking back to the blog hopefully after Friday

Hope you feel better soon, Cor-Al. That's quite a lot of bandages! Remember, hair grows back.
