I noticed several Jedi in the movies seem to carry their saber on their weak side, and use their strong hand and a cross-draw to pull it out. So I'm just wondering how/where others wear their saber. Coming next week: Maybe I'll post another survey to find out if I'm just over-thinking the whole issue

I think the cross draw is inspired by real world swords. You have to pull the sword across your body to get enough room to clear the scabbard.
Lucas may have done it this way to add a familiar sense of how swords "should" be drawn, just like he used WWII dogfight footage to establish the feel for fighter combat in space.

being somewhat ambidextrous I havent actually decided yet. I currently cross-draw, but am thinking of changing the setup if I do an EU costume and carry a blaster as well.

I wear mine on the left like Anakin and Obi Wan as it doesn't look right on the other side.

In fudal Japan, all samurai wore their swords on the left side (to avoid an embarrassing and sometimes fatal faux pas of accidentally bumping swords with another), so I think Lucas adopted this convention for the Jedi.

Of course, the obvious question (that no one asks ) is ... just what are you going to do when you draw that hilt with no blade? Hit someone over the head with it like a bottle in an old TV Western barroom brawl? Always stirring up trouble I am.... BTW, I DID vote.... weak side / cross draw.

let me see, I wear it on the left side--(most comfortable) but because of my shoulder issue I use my left hand to lift the saber off & my right hand to hold the saber while I take the covertech off & put the covertech back on my belt--it's complicated to say the least but it works. So what does this make me?
