As reported in another thread....somewhere...
When I got home from Dragon Con...I had so much Jedi costume pieces to wash that I did something I usually don't do...I machine washed...
Normally, I just wash my Jedi tunics, tabards, undertunics and what not by hand...I wear mine a lot...and since....for the most part...we are just washing out sweat...hand washing does great.
Well...I had sooooooooooooo much to wash after Dragon Con that I threw my natural colored Osnaberg tunic, tabards, sash and undertunic in the washer with my dyed brown Osnaberg tunic set.....I had washed the dyed brown one so many times I figured it would be safe...
NOT... all the light colored pieces came out with a definite pink cast...some had stains...and the cotton crinkle guaze undertunic was REALLY pink....the red portion of the brown dye had come out. I was devastated!
I purchased a couple boxes of Rit Color Remover in the hopes that I could get all that red/pink out...and I am here to tell you that it did a fabulous job!
The pieces look perfect again.
I know there are others out there who have stated that they have picked up some pretty mysterious things....give the color remover a try... the directions have two stages... Color removal Stain removal ...
I used the stain removal instructions..
Just wanted to pass this along...
;D

Oh, that's a relief! I thought you were going to say the light colored tunics were ruined. Great solution.
I always machine wash my stuff but keep lights and darks separate.

My beige colored crinkle gauze gets stained... but I think it's more that it's just fading in spots... maybe from sweat? It seems to be around the belt area. It has to be sweat, but it's frustrating! It almost looks like someong sprayed bleach in certain areas, but I know that's not possible.
