I am thinking about making a leather looking set of tabbards as an upgrade to my current one. I am uncertain if pleather tabbards are regulated by the Jedi Code - I know of a few examples of Jedi having leather, but wonder if I would need to recreate a specific Jedi in order for a brown pleater set of tabbards to be accepted. Reffering to the Article V - costuming and Membership requirement I know I cannot make black tabbards, but I fail to see anything related to material. On another hand, we are trying to make "joe jedi" and most screen-used costume aren't pleather Therefore, I would like the council to enlight me on this matter in order to make the good choice in making my new set of tabbards. Thanks.

Leather or Pleather tabbards in any shade of brown/tan are ok. Bultar Swan wears them in the Geonosis arena, and she's within the definition of the "generic jedi".

Ok pleather tabards,
One wrod Hot
I swtiched to raw silk tabards cause the weight of the pleather or at least the ones I had was too much. They look great if they are thin enough and such but it all depends on the person.

Thanks for the valuable info, Master Em-Borr... just wanted to confirm before taking final decisions.
Ky-Wan, you must be right. The major complain I had last convention is that I did sweat too much, and that's with cotton everything. I should consider that and not make pleather tabbards.

Well if you are serious about going that route, you can also simply get leather tabards made. depending on the type it can get costly, but starting with pleater is not a bad idea at least to experiment with it

How are yours on your Anakin costume, Primrodo? and how confortable are they?
(I guess you also experimented a bit with that?)

Mine are Lambskin leather, and VERY comfortable. I have also used cowskin and vinyl/pleather. The pleather was ok for awhile, but after a few hours it gets pretty bad as the sweat starts pumping. Pretty uncomfortable after awhile. But its totally ok for smaller situations and events! I woudl experiment at least to try it out and see if you like them

I made pleather tabbards for Solorad's costume. They look pretty nice, but they DO NOT stay in place. So I had to pin them to his undertabbards and tunic to keep them in place at CIII.
