Ok some pics.... My Halloween 2004 (and first attempt) - it's not a good pic. I can't seem to find my original pics... Edit: Found the original pics on my desktop. *glee* Another angle avec Photoshopping My tabards were Terrible! New Tabards which were Much better and my first outer robe. I daren't make my own so I bought this off of eBay for $75... It's a cotton twill blend I think My first outer tunic w/ new tabards. The belt was a WWII pistol belt I dyed brown... The best part is the saber from Jeff Park... My second outer tunic (made from suiting) and much better cut overall. Same Belt, awesome Renn Faire boots. Those are the most comfortable boots in the universe! All New Tunics and this is actually the Second Leather belt I did... A cool WWII era front pouch - New boots (reminded me of some from EpII visual dictionary). This pic makes me feel like Steve Harris from Iron Maiden. All I need is a bass guitar... Alternate Tabards that I made one day... The hair is real (as it can get) I hadn't cut my hair since Comic-con... Finally my current incarnation... I can't tell you the fabric of the outer tunic... It's cool. I upgraded my outer Robe to a Melton Dark Brown Wool from Mystick Merchant - according to them, I'm the last one to buy a wool robe as they are discontuing the Wool Line from their product Catalog... Pic was taken in El Segundo on the beach. We were about 5 minutes from LAX. The last three pics I mix and match the pieces since I believe though Jedi may be somewhat ascetic, they don't have ONE set of clothing. I just got some beautiful Brown suede to make another outer tunic and some cool blue stuff for some new blue tabards to mix in. I want to get some good liner too. Maybe I'll splurge for some silk... oof. I have so far to go in sewing though. I need to work from a real pattern instead of the old karate gi. *sigh*

I would like to take credit for the lining...but that was Nova... I cut the whole thing out....and ran out of time....I was really involved in my Rebel Fleet Trooper...so I sent the pieces to Nova to sew together for me..... It still took me like two months just to get around to hemming the bottom and the sleeves...
The robe is all mine though..it is a "Mace Windu" in style.. ;D

At least you have hair!! Mine is so baby fine there's not much I can do with it. I always wanted to have long full hair to arrange or braid or whatever -- especially with costumes. Oh well.... I guess I better stick with no-frills, easy-care Jedi hair. No Leia buns for me unless I tape them to my ears... Yeah, really! And I thought I was the only Jedi (or soon-to-be-Jedi) with thin hair. Thank goodness my sis took mercy on me and cut it (after Halloween) Well, my first (and only) costume is hanging in my closet...I'll try and get some pics of it but no gaurentees...but I will say this; it's embarrassing. Sister!! We've got to stick together! ;D And if you want to talk about embarrassment -- at least it looks like you've got a real saber. My first trip out in "Halloween Jedi" (2005) I carried a Hasbro big old clunky thing. (At least it made the cool sounds.) And I didn't know much what to do with it but wave it around... I probably should have put my hood up and hidden my face in shame....

And very, very nice costumes AND progression, Schph and Lazlo. I do like the lasts ones best on both of you, and Lazlo I also like the chocolate brown tunic/tabard combo. (Kind of reminds me of Mace, with the darker top and lighter pants.)
Ya'll both look like you stepped out of the Temple!

Yeah, embarrassment is what this thread is all about!! OK, then, if you insist.... Ran out of time on modifying my old Halloween tunic -- spent too much time working on my belt/pouches and the "fit" for the tabards and obi. The tunic is a modified Victoria Secrets robe (gasp!) I picked up at a thrift shop. (I figured with the Jedi robe over it, no one would really see it -- it was black anyway....) Halloween this year was also a "fit" and "wear" experiment for finishing my real costume. I didn't have to fight with the tabards this year since I added the waist dart. But I remade the obi 3 times and it was still a tug-of-war. I may have to give up trying the wrap styles and just go with velcro.

Oooo, I really like the latest garb from both Schph and Lazlo. and Lazlo, the photo is really nice with the setting. Yeah, Lazlo's good with Photoshop! In a couple of years, after I figure out rotoscoping and how to do Jawa robes for the kitties, I'll like to drop my photo in Mace Windu's office (the set in 365 Days that was never used). I always sort of thought of my character as a Temple aide or Mace's assistant or something... sort of like what I do in real life. Boring Jedi, I know, but hey, someone's got to mind the store, ummm, Temple while all of the rest of you are out saving the galaxy.
