I thought about possibly re-dyeing it, but I have not had great luck with dyes. They never come out the color I hope for, even if I use dye remover first.
I washed my outfit alone, so I don't believe it was off my son's outfit. I wonder if it could be from my outer robe, since there is some on shoulders and other odd spaces my belt doesn't touch.
Bloodstains.. battle worn.. I'll probably just keep it the way it is. You can't really see them unless you're really up close
I am now contemplating re-cycling the obi to my old old Old Ben-style tunic and making a set of tabbards from it and seeing if I can renew that old outfit (inspiration from Nova and Den's long tunics).
Have several ideas churning in my head right now. I'll have to wait and see if any of them actually come to fruition.

I've had dye rub off on stuff in my suitcases in humid weather a few times, might explain the weird places it's in. I don't remember seeing them at COSI tho' so unless you got them later, they're not really all that noticible.
Cor Al, would you like me to send you a copy of my tunic pattern? Drop me a PM if you would.

I would like to make a jedi costume but I need a pattern to follow because I am not a very good improviser

there are quite a few threads about that, look for the simplicity 4450, it seams to be the most popular commercial pattern... Obviously, to be 100% canon you'd alter some things here and there, as they can't replicate it to perfection without LFL authorisation, but the general look is pretty good, and if you want more canon you can alter it without too much problems.

If there is a JoAnn's in your area, they frequently have them at $1.99 sales on Simplicity patterns. Wal Mart's usually has them at 1/2 price, it's only about $12.oo anyway I think, so not to pricey.

I paid my 4450 about 10$ at fabricville but its worth it IMHO as the result is great, even if you need to alter things out.

i got my simplicity 4450 for about 12 dollars, which seems to be a steady price for it
and on the melaluca oil, (i know a bit late) it is better if you let it sit in it for a bit, but it shouldnt be required to make it work at least a little bit.

the only things you should really have to do with simplicity 4450 is 1) dont use the dickie pattern, just reuse the tunic pattern to make the undertunic, just make sure you use the dickie collar for that one, it stands out more so you can actually see the undertunic just a little bit. 2) it doesnt come with a pattern for pants, so either buy a pair of mostly pocketless khakis, or get a pattern for scrub (those things hospital workers wear) pants and use that as a basis.
other than that there isnt much to do with simplicity 4450

I would suggest to not use the 4450 for the obi and tabbards. Their robe seams doubtfull too but I haven't tried it, I made it with other methods discussed here and there on the web for a great result.

Actually the robe is ok, my buddy Todd used it and it looked great As for the inner tunic, I would advise against resusing the tunic pattern for the inner tunic, the pattern is completly different, and would end up being wuite baggy on you.

Thanks for the heads-on for the Robe. 4450 went out AFTER I had made my robe, so I didn't care much for it. In fact, it came out after I had my first completed jedi costume, but wanted to make a 2nd tunic... happy results.
