My name is from Buddhist history. Acal is from Acal Vidyaraja, a Sanskrit term for "the being that carries the sword (or in my case, lightsaber) that destroys ignorance". So-Hei is a Japanese term for a monastic leader or peacebringer who was traditionally a warrior-trained monk who guarded holy relics, treasures, or occasionally dharma teachers. I hope I can live up to the name!

Interesting topic! Tenric Starkindler:the first name came last and the last name came first (I find life is often ordered that way ) I have been using Starkindler for ...oh... about 8+ years now. It was my first screen name on AOL and I carried over into the forums I joined and the two websites I Co-Admin. I got the name from one of my favorite musicians, Michael Card, he has an album and song by that name. Looking into it I found that it was an old Celtic name used for Christ. It seemed a good name to adopt, and a constant reminder of my faith while surfing the 'Net. when I re-discovered my SW fandom and started visiting the forums it seemed like I needed a good first name to go with the one I was using. I did a couple of those name-generator things but didn't like the results much (at least not for naming a human). So I just went to a randomly generated list of names and started going through it.....when I hit Tenric I just liked the sound of it as it rolled of my tongue so I stuck with it. ***trivia*** for those so minded (and future Trivial Pursuit players ) I almost went with the name my wife and I had picked out for our last child if it had been a boy......a nod to a ST:TNG (Data-centric) episode and a name we both liked upon hearing it....any ST fans care to guess?

Dr soong right? I think I remember that epp. Nope. Data was sent to a planet to retrieve a highly radioactive something, was supposed to do it without contacting the locals but the radiation damaged his memoery circuts and he wandered into town with amnesia............

I wish I could say that there was neat reason for my name, but alas I just thought that it sounded neat. Jace was one nickname my family had for me as a child. Larsen uses part of my last name (La Rue). Not much to it, but I like it. ;D

Seraph means angel, and Verum is latin for truth. I think of it together meaning Guardian of Truth or Messenger of Truth, and that's why I chose it. Part of it is a reminder of my faith.

as for my name, its actually rather simple. i basically spent 3 years watching "the highlander" tv show everyday after school while i did my home work, and when methos debuted as a character, i was smitten with the name. katarn, you can feel free to chime in with any/all methos quotes you feel like, i'll start:
Methos, "Okay. Give me the keys." Duncan, "What keys?" Methos, "The keys to the barge." Duncan, "You weren't serious. You were testing me." Methos, "No. If I'm gonna die, you're going to pay me for it. Give me the keys." Duncan, "I can't give you the barge. I just redecorated it." Methos, "Nice job. Give me the keys."

I wish I could, Horseman. I have all 6 seasons (well, ok .. all 5 and a half) on VHS but haven't watched them in a long while. I've forgotten almost everything. (but my favorite banter has always been between McLeod and Fitzcairn)

Believe it or not, that is exactly my name as well, right down to the spelling (a space between La and Rue). You can't tell you how many times I have people jokingly ask me if I moonlight for the Reds.
