Costume Color Question

Okay, as many of you know, I'm planning on a new costume, and it will be a full-length tunic like Obi-Wan wore in ANH. However, I can't quite decide on the color. I'm leaning towards the more traditional creams/khakis, but think that darker colors go better with my complexion, so thought I'd ask people's advice. Which color do you think looks better on me? Pale or dark?

The dark brown over tunic with the light under looks very nice.

Thanks I think the dark colors suit me better, I was just concerned that it might not look as nice in a full-length tunic, such as Saesee Tiin's, compared to Obi-Wan's.

Ish... I was thinking more like Obi-Wan's ANH costume, which is less structured and uses a long scarf for tabbards, rather than the 'back and front' style PT tabbards. Thanks for sharing the photos though, it's certainly giving me more things to consider

My Jedi costume everyone wanted me to go with black colors, but I ALWAYS wear black so I figured I would just stick with regular colors.

I think the darker colors suit you better, and it doesn't cause your hair to stand out also as much. That's one thing my eyes zoom on is the hair and the color of the outfit with the white one.

TND, that does look good, really good, I think I'd like just a bit more of the lighter colour showing, that's just a personal thing, tho' I do have a longish outer tunic in the planning in a dark brown.

Interesting... People are saying dark, yet the poll shows pale in the lead... Curious, this is ;D Keep the comments coming, folks Hathor, I quite agree, with the pale colors, it is all very much the same, but the dark colors break things up a bit

I'm more of a fan of light coloured tunics myself... although you would need a lighter brown robe I think.

If you are doing an ANH obi wan tunic, but prequel style costume then check out Agen Kolar - his tunic is pretty much exactly like Old Ben's, including the scarf - tabbard.

I have to admit, that looks nicer than Saesee Tiin's dark long tunic, and really was my original aim, but having seen how I 'react' in the paler colors, thought it best to solicit opinions ;D

also, let's not forget the "redeemed anakin" at the end of rotj...who had a long tunic without tabbards altogether.

Doesn't Anakin's end-of-ROTJ Jedi outfit have a long strip of fabric around his neck like Obi-Wan? I call that piece of fabric a stole; that doesn't sound right, but I don't know any other name for it.

I think the darker looks pretty good, I liked Agen's look except his sleeves are not baggy.

not trying to hijack thread....just wanted to post a pic of anakin and old ben.....i think it's safe to say that anakin has no tabs/stole. interesting to note is the change in inner tunic with the change in anakin heads.....




another thing i just noticed is that agen kolar's jedi belt is similar to kit fisto's belt, with a wide accent belt and buckle.....like mine here:



to be back on topic, i say go with the one you will enjoy wearing most. a darker color is a bit different, however...more difficult to match with a robe...could even consider going with a lighter colored robe. a lighter color tunic looks more classic, but can be made to stand out with a really nice fabric texture.
