Well, I haven't yet sent in my "join us" application, since I don't have a full blown saber yet, only a bought Ultimate toyset that I got at WalMart. But my machined Saber from RandomSabers will come! ^^ I'm also not happy with the belt, since it's just the belt piece from a hiking backpack, and the fact that the sleeves are not as loose as they should be, but I thought I'd show what the costume looks like right now and get some feedback. A note; the brown shirt piece was made for me by a friend while the pants and boots were store bought, and I built the pleather obi shash and taberds. Team effort on this, and I'm proud to admit it. A photoshop piece inserting me with Ewan. (bows to young Obi-Wan0 The only photoshoping I did on the costume was to eliminate the conbadge from the original photo. Which leads to... The actual photo taken at AO 5. I'm right now working on two Luke costumes, and an RotS Anakin, along with "Full Sith" Anakin, since having variations for conventions is always nice. So, advise, comments, and such are welcome. I always strive to improve. ^^

Oooohhh, the costume's looking good and nice pose, too. There will always be things to improve on your costume. It's a never-ending quest.

Wow... looking good!
Suggestion... when you send in a picture, send in one where you're standing straight up facing front, so the costume can be fully seen. It looks great though, so far!
What do you mean by the belt is from a "hiking backpack"... you mean the buckle, or the whole belt?
Some members have used that plastic buckle and just painted it silver.

What do you mean by the belt is from a "hiking backpack"... you mean the buckle, or the whole belt? I don't yet have any really well lit front view pics, and I have to fix the tunic for the collar flaps. As for the belt, it's the whole thing, I had to sew on a piece of pleather for a spot to put the food capsules. Oh, and yes, that braid IS my real hair. I've been fighting with the thing to stay behind my ear instead of sticking off to the side...

Lots of hard work on that costume, you must be proud. I myself am not a fan of character replication, but I agree it can be a lot of fun.
Oh, and congrats on the braid - most people won't let their natural hair grow to complement their costumes... but it is generally the best accessory and can make a whole difference.

It's looking good I think that's the first time I've seen synth-leather tabbards accompanied by a synth-leather obi, but it looks great Congratulations on a great costume

The tabbards and obi appear to be black (possibly very dark brown) but on my screen, the pants and tunic are firmly in the brown range, the tunic being slightly lighter than the pants.

Yeah, the taberds and obi are black synth-leather, while the pants and outer tunic are brown, with a black mid-layer tunic that's black, simply worn for more layers to keep me warm. We actually rigged up the sleeves of the main tunic to fold in and create a set of shoulder "sculpts", so when you see it, it does look like I have the appropriate third tunic layer. I do have some more front angle pictures, but most of they are not very well lit, so the entire outfit looks almots black. I'm actually happy with the boots I bought, I just need to rig up the shin guards and strap them on. I also just picked up a new belt, since the old one is actually a loaner that still hasn't gotten back to my buddy Wes three years after we did the X2 opening weekend promotions at a local theater. The new one looks a hell of a lot better. ^^ I do have a good front view shot of the original vest piece version, which has good lighting. This was before I got the taberds built, as a note.

The first picture at the top of the page does indeed show that you are making progress. We look forward to seeing the finished costume. Then again, are any of us ever really finished with our costumes?
