I know that some of you guys belong to other costume groups (rebel legion, and 501st to name the "big ones") and I was looking for some advice or some direction into making a costume like Corran Horn's from the cover of I, Jedi. I know it's probably based on some sort of flight suit, I was just wondering if anyone knew what one, or if it was just dreamed up by the artist if anyone has incountered one that looks similar. If you don't know what I'm talking about, here's a pic. I know that it's grainy but it's the best I could come up with.

It's likely to be his CorSec uniform he's wearing. If there are any references or pics of other CorSec types it might give you a direction to go in......

From the looks of the pictures, I'd say that's what it is. The collar shapes looks like a regular suit with the collar turned up...

Well...poo (and yes I typed that not the cencor droids lol) I suppose I might do a "my rendition" version then, because I thought a grey (I think it's grey in the painting, I'm a bit color blind...complicated, never mind) one piece version of the Bespin outfit, with an OT Jedi Belt would be cool.

I guess it's a case of what you'd find easiest to do. I may be wrong, but if you use an EU character as inspiration, I think you might have to recreate their lightsaber too...

Well, does anyone have any pics of that? (the one on the cover of I, Jedi isn't that discriptive)

Far as I know there are no "official" pics of Corran's saber....a description of his making it in the book might give inspiration to it's appearance though.
as to the outfit....He's CorSec in his bones so It's likely that type of outfit. The Color, now, could be up to you since he was in a specific division I believe (detective?) so his wouldnb't be just the run of the mill outfit. He also kept hi sblaster and was likely to have just hooked his saber to the belt he always wore.

I remember he talked a lot about "Corsec green" but I'm not sure if that was just on his x-wing or on his flightsuit as well. The suit could be a greyish green.

Interesting... Have you looked at the Wizards of the Coast card for Corran Horn? Other than Mike Stackpole (A cool guy if ya ever meet him) posing as him for the card, they might have actually made a card for his lightsaber as they tend to do for character weapons. ------------ Decipher, not Wizards... Decipher did a better card game in my opinion... and West End Games a better RPG, but that's just my opinion, seeing as Wizards has their mind set in miniature and haven't done another RPG book in well over a year. ------------ NM, I found the pic and uploaded it. It's blurry, but it looks like an old Everready flashlight. ----------------- Then again, looking through this site www.flashlightmuseum.com/collectors_craig_smart.cfm A lot of lightsabers look like old flashlights, but seeing as the originals were flashguns, I find that rather appropriate. The second picture has one on the left that looks like Palpatine's. ;D

I believe that the costume in question is a combo between luke's from ROTJ and a Corsec if that helps

looks like the lightsaber history site doesn't have it either... www.thelightsaber.com/historyC.htm#GOTOCorrenHornand who's that strange picture of? doesn't look like Corran Horn to me! Since there is no picture of the one he made, the pic on the cover of the book is the reference you would go by when making the lightsaber, and it does have the look of a flashlight.

There is a lightsaber description in the book, pg. 479. Basically it says he made it out of the throttle assembly and handlebar tube of a junked speeder bike. So I suppose an interpretation of that description would do also. ...and here's a larger shot of the costume. There is a waistband of sorts, but it's hard to tell if the suit is one piece or pants and a jacket.
