Thanks for the compliments on the belt, I don't ever want to make another one like it! I was pretty complicated to construct, with the 2 small criss-crossing straps.
I plan on making my pauldrons out of leather. I love leather, the way it smells and sounds when it creaks. You're very welcome Leather certainly is a great material, I have several leather coats, and plans for more, and a grenade-shaped change pouch (made in hard leather) that I purchassed in Wales (and a place called Corrus ;D ) Cool! I'm going to try that when I make the collar piece for the version of Asajj that I'm doing. Thanks I think the mask is what really finishes it properly Out of curiousity, how're you going to do the bald cap for Assaj? Aurra's is understandable, in that you can pull your hair through as the top-knot, but you'll be cramming a lot of hair under a bald cap... (The Borg Queen makeup was designed with the large head so it could accomodate Alice Krieg's hair under the bald cap) It'll be an experiment. My hair can get pretty flat, and I would use a wig sock and alot of hairspray to keep it in place. If it doesn't look right I'll just have to affix the robe hood to the back half of the cap. That way I'll still get the bald look in the front, but the hood will cover any stray lumps. Ahh, if you can get your hair really flat, then you might be able to get away with it I just wondered as your hair looks very similar to my fiance's, which is extremely thick, but has a tendency to be unmanageable, and I thought it might've been tricky to cram it under a bald cap. Something that's just come to mind, is apparently recent Borg makeup involved a hard-cast bald cap... Maybe something like that would be good for keeping your hair down

Nice job!!! Making a vader costume from what I am told is very challenging and expensive. I have my own project comming up with my Scouttrooper armor. I got the kit but you still have to do alot of work getting it put together.

Tanzan- Yep they are Blast Tech, very nice quality; i plan on redoing the saber and getting new grips since that was the first saber i made involving a dremel. I might go for an Anakin style with the prequel Obi-Wan grips. Right now I need to focus on getting a new helmet since the standard rubies does not go with my scale. (Im like 6'1, 205lb)
Himiko- Yes it does get expensive so far ive probably spent more than $300 on it (even though that is cheap for a vader suit) and im getting ready to spend another $100 on a new more accurate helmet. I also know what you mean about the Scout trooper armor since most of the time you have to buy the glue, paint, and Lycra suit which is about another $100 added onto the $500 dollar kit.

(Im like 6'1, 205lb) I thought they might be, I've been using Blast-Tech parts for a few years now whereever appropriate on my sabers I like the sound of your planned saber, but when you say prequel Obi-Wan grips, do you mean the TPM/AtoC saber, or the RotS one? I can't quite visualize how the two would combine, but I do like the sound of it There's no need for a dremel when it comes to the emitter of either of Anakin's sabers, as my tutorial illustrates All I use mine for now, is drilling pilot holes for the covertec knobs ;D

Yeah i meant the AOTC type. Try to imagine this: Take the middle section of Obi's saber out, connect the AOTC anakin padawan saber emitter(since it is raised and not part of the actual body pipe) and then end the saber with a Big Yellow box style four gas cap ending, minus the emitter ears.

Theres a local 501st here who has a Vader suit. He just moved here from Ohio and he just finished his vader costume. looks really nice. he spent big credits on his costume. Once I get my trooper gear I have to just get gloves, boots and the blaster and then the cumbberbun.. then somehow learn to put it all together..

I know alot of the 501st vader suits make mine look like crap but since i don't have a job yet im doing the best i can, and trooper gear ain't that hard to put together, ive heard that you should use elastic straps since the velcro will wear out over time and will have to be replaced.
