I know that this is a community for Light Side Jedi, but out of curiousity, I was wondering how many folks also have Sith Costumes? The costume I first made was an all black recreation of Anakin's ATOC costume, which was rightly rejected by the assembly as being too easy to mistake as a Sith. With that in mind, and following the creation of my new Jedi costume, I decided to make that costume a Sith costume, and completed that transition with the use of a mask and cowl/hood, gloves, and a skirt based on a Japanese hakama The mask was inspired by my favorite villian in Doctor Who, and that has also inspired the history of the character: He is the result of a Jedi Master surviving Order 66, albeit with terrible burns (always a good theme ) He was found by natives who were able to use the Force to manipulate the midichlorians into restoring his life, although not healing his injuries enough to restore his appearance. Out of respect to the natives that restored him, but feeling intense bitterness and shame at his disfigurement, he donned a tribal mask, and then devoted himself to the Dark Side of the Force, as it was that which returned his life. Behold, Darth Vious: I know I'm not the only one with a Sith costume, I'd love to see other people's ventures to the Dark Side, even if it is only on one thread [Edit to fix links]

I have a darth vader suit that i will be wearing this halloween since my jedi costume isn't finished. It was made using the tutorials at lady vaderkinde's site www.geocities.com/the_executor_ii/TheMeditationChamber.html sorry don't have any pics since i don't have a digital camera but we all know what a darth vader suit looks like.

You are not alone! ;D
There are some of us, who do have Sith costumes, just to have some fun, while at conventions. I myself have done Darth Nihilus, and Asanjj Ventress costumes, as well as my normal Jedi stuff.
Im also working on my own sith twi'lek, just for fun.
I do love yer sith. Interesting face. Uniform is QUITE interesting. Love it!
Other costumes are always fun.

Thanks, Ris'sa The mask was inspired by the character Sharez Jek, from my favorite episode, Caves of Androzani. It is a simple full-face plastic mask, which I then used a permanant marker to create the design (all the 'filling strokes' follow the contours of the mask so it looks more even) It is worn over a balaclava, with a black T-Shirt worn over the top to create the cowl. The costume itself is essentially the same as Anakin's, but completely black. The half-skirt is worn over the pants, but beneath the tunic. I like the sound of your Sith Twi'lek, it'll be interesting to see the completed costume

Cool! I like the Sith mask idea! Hmmmm.... Yeah Ris'sa has some good ones! I love her Asajj! Rissa as asajj And this is my not quite completed Asajj. I haven't done the bald cap yet for this one, nor have I finished the bodysuit. For now it's just a generic 'femme-sith'. These pics were from D*C 2004. I wore it this year too, with some random face paint. Hopefully I can have it done and looking like Asajj for Dragon-Con next year! Leda Sith Sith vs. Jedi And I also do the Aurra Sing costume---not exactly Sith, but...... Aurra

I enjoy doing dark costumes, since no offense to any jedi, most sith costumes are more interesting, vaders being very unique and odd(not that he had a choice to were anything else.)

Tanzan, that costume looks spectacular, I love the mask. I have a sith costume, based on my Reloaded Neo coat, with alot of added extras. Looks pretty good, but I've never taken pics of it.
And Leda, Ive seen pics of your Aurra costume before and it looks absolutely spot on, just perfect.

Nope, no sith for me. Only lightside Jedi.
But your costume is excellent, TanzanLinnear!
Leda...I never realised that was YOU under that Aurra Sing makeup. That's fantastic.

I'm working on ideas for a Sith costume. I want to make some segmented, articulated shoulder pauldrons. I need to make a posterboard mock up first, to work the bugs out.
So far, I've only got my belt done:

Cool! I like the Sith mask idea! Hmmmm.... Leda Sith Aurra Thanks I think the mask is what really finishes it properly Out of curiousity, how're you going to do the bald cap for Assaj? Aurra's is understandable, in that you can pull your hair through as the top-knot, but you'll be cramming a lot of hair under a bald cap... (The Borg Queen makeup was designed with the large head so it could accomodate Alice Krieg's hair under the bald cap) Tanzan, that costume looks spectacular, I love the mask. You'll have to get some pics, Seda, I really like the sound of it Nope, no sith for me. Only lightside Jedi. But your costume is excellent, TanzanLinnear! So far, I've only got my belt done: I really like your belt, Loreen What're you planning on making the pauldrons out of? Would you be making them yourself, or having someone make them for you? My wife and I had done costumes from the Dark Side. Dark Force Witch and Inquisitor Those are great costumes

Thanks for the compliments on the belt, I don't ever want to make another one like it! I was pretty complicated to construct, with the 2 small criss-crossing straps.
I plan on making my pauldrons out of leather. I love leather, the way it smells and sounds when it creaks.

Yeah the segmented armor can be tough... that's a great idea making them out of poster board first.

When I made my Sith belt I worked my way from the front center outward. I wanted to make sure I got the holes punched properly so that the 2 small straps would have the right curvature and lay right, against the wide strap, as they crossed over one another..
I used these paper fasteners as temporary "rivets" to hold the belt together as I worked my way around it:

When I make my pauldron mock up, I'll use these in place of rivets in the poster board. Then I can make sure they move properly, trimming where needed. Then these pieces will become my patterns.

Cool! I'm going to try that when I make the collar piece for the version of Asajj that I'm doing. Thanks I think the mask is what really finishes it properly Out of curiousity, how're you going to do the bald cap for Assaj? Aurra's is understandable, in that you can pull your hair through as the top-knot, but you'll be cramming a lot of hair under a bald cap... (The Borg Queen makeup was designed with the large head so it could accomodate Alice Krieg's hair under the bald cap) It'll be an experiment. My hair can get pretty flat, and I would use a wig sock and alot of hairspray to keep it in place. If it doesn't look right I'll just have to affix the robe hood to the back half of the cap. That way I'll still get the bald look in the front, but the hood will cover any stray lumps.
