Hey guys!
I know some of you have been wondering where I am at with my costume and what I have been doing with it.
I am not ready to do alot with my Anakin costume yet, its not QUITE done yet, but I do have some pictures from the recent Parade.
But I thought to start it off I would show a little brief history of where I came from and where I am now. Some I have pictures, most I do not
So Where did Primrodo come from?
Back in 1999 I was still in a very imagintive state even being in Grade 11....I took a Pillow case, an old cape and rain boots and a Hasbro saber and I was a Jedi... at least in my mind on our rented farm house land where no one could see.
Then Halloween that year I went and bought the cheaper Qui-Gon costume and the Obi-Wan Rubies hilt. I took a white bathrobe, attached a hood and had it dyed. And then I got my first Padawan braid, and I have no idea what I did for boots. But I do remember attaching a Key-Ring for the saber so it could hand upside down and look cool!
Fast Forward 3 years, moved into College and had some money to spread around. Stumbling across Padawan's guide I had my first "real" costume made in time for the movie. I bought a belt from Maggie at Padawan's Guide, who also sold me a covertec clip...never used anything but! I also got vinyl black boots from a Tack shop. There were problems right off and I had to get them changed around later.
Heres a couple pictures from that orginal costume:

As you can see I got the Padawan braid there, went and had some hair braided, got some embroidery floss and spirit gum and I still use this braid today when I feel the need to be a young Jedi.
I also still used an Obi-Wan Rubies Saber, and I had some great pants kicking around for the costume, that happened to be from the GAP.
I went dressed as a Jedi to Attack of the Clones, and was the only one dressed up. it was great, weird, and scary, but I LOVED every second of it. I got so many looks, but I did stand outside the theatre waiting for the movie to start.
After this I had a custom machined saber made, have tucks added in the sleaves and the inner tunic sleaves were made proper and not with elastic...This is where my nit pickyness on myself and my costume started.

Then down the line I stated working on a fanfilm and needed a new lightsaber, and a new robe, the latter which I still have. This was also when I got my first Anakin boots as I started to go down the road to get the costume started after seeing Episode 2. I also got some great custom made resin pouches that turned out fantastic.

This one is my favorite!

This one looking back was a bit funny as the Episode 3 trailer came out I was like hey I did that shot 3 years ago!:

Loads of pictures there
Moving along now...After I moved here to St. Catharines I knew it was time to start moving on my Anakin costume. I sold my old boots (but ended up borrowing them alot!) as I was promised new ones soon. I then bought my leather tabards and first Rein One belt:

Then I was indtroduced to better fabrics! I started wanting a better fitting costume and the works, unfortunatly I sold my cool boots and thus didn't want to do the Jedi thing for this Parade in Rochester without good boots, so I borrowed a friends Black and Grey jedi costume, took my new leather tabards for a spin and mixed it up Jedi style including shin pads for covers.
Thats right guys! I wore a black Jedi costume, and I loved it! Not enough to say it was canon though

After this I went in search of Raw silk and got some, dyed my old white pants to brown and got a snazzy new belt after selling off the Rein One one. Then later for a Parade I got some new Obi-Wan boots which were tooo tight on my feet but have found a new home now...a good one I hope!

I love this costume, it was probably the furthest off canon I will ever get. Orangey inner tunic, funky belt (which I miss dearly!) and etc. This was also the first time without the braid!
So C3 started pulling up and after deciding I should go...with some help form Leda, Nova and Xana...I invested in my Anakin costume FINALLY again, deciding to go with ROTS.
I bought a wig and the stuff to go with but was waiting on Rein one stuff too. As you can see I borrowed my old Anakin boots and used the new pants, I also borrowed liek crazy!...still not great, but hey I LOVED being Anakin!

And NOW!
I Got a great new belt, pouches and overall look from a good guy, 99% accurate and I am in love with it! I got my awesome new 99% accurate boots. I hunted down great fabric for the tunic and though it still needs to be altered its a great base. I also am wearing a modided Rubies glove here and the D i c k i e s pants I got after great recommendations!

The Parade links I will set up soon.
I've now even got my wife, Mother-In-Law, the foster kids she has, and my neice on the right there, RIGHT into it.

Bad picture, this is from another camera as ours was not working, lol! But you can see what everyone is, The blonde kid beside me is a Mini Anakin though, see here: www.petridish.net/pics/22790/AnakinBrad.jpg
Also just to show that in a fanfilm i mixed it up a bit. Anakin tunic and boots and leather tabards, my orange inner tunic, grey pants and a Han Solo style belt:

So now you all are wondering, whats left?
Wellllll
- I am heavly thinking of getting a new Tunic material dyed since that Dressing a Galaxy has swatches to base actual colour from.
- I still need inner tunic material.
- Got my new tabards in to match ROTS, not pictured though as I got them the Monday after the Parade, doh!
- Waiting on my all leather glove, hopefully in before Halloween.
- Custom machined belt saber thats almost done as well:

- MAYBE a new wig, but I love this one!
I've had a great time and I am not slowing down, but I thought I would share all this for fun but also to show that even if you start as a Bathrobe Jedi or dollar bin with black boots you can get somewhere fairly easy.
Most of the advancements I have got have been simply from selling my old stuff. I wear I sell, i upgrade. It seems silly, but it works out for the best.
As it is I may be selling THIS Anakin tunic to get the new one made...I am confident someone will buy it
I never thought I would be here but I am, and I am happy! And I have spread my happiness to my family and for that....I am very happy!
Let the comments begin!
