The tunic does look great...I don't have the cloak, and Master Nova Darklighter was extremely kind and made patterns for my tabards. However, the tunic does turn out great, although there are some sort of cuts on the hips/upper thighs you might want to avoid. They were OK for my custom Jedi, but if you're doing 100% canon, don't use them.

I'm thinking of getting the 4450 pattern.
I've looked at it, and the tunic sleeves need to be more square, (not tapered) and the collar may need to be bigger. It may also be a little to clingy in the hips. I my just use the one I've already work out.
I like the tabards. I think, that they are a fairly accurate shape, but the shoulder seem has to go. I will probably use the pattern for the bottom layer, and then on the top layer, I'll have it one piece from the waist in the front, to the waist in the back. (if that makes since, if not I can elaborate)
I like the Obi I pattern I made last spring better, so I'll probably us that.
So I guess I would really just be buying this for the tabards, because I hate strata tabards, and I haven't been able to get the curved ones right.
Now that some time has past on this thread, does anyone else have something to add.

I finished my tunic using this.
I have to say the ugliest thing on the 4450 is the tabbards. Tabbards are supposed to be straight, but the 4450 have weirded curve shoulder shields instead. I made my own tabbard and obi.
the tunic itself is not so bad, but I couldn't use thier instructions and had to improvise. I also couldn't make the armpit to fall nicely. Luckily the tabbards covers the weird fold.
I wouldn't say this is THE jedi pattern. Its not bad, but you can have better results with other ones like the housecoat ones available.

No affiance, but the only the tabards in ep 1 where strata, and they looked awful, IMHO. The ones in ep 2 and 3 have.... well...... for lack of a better word, "curve" in them. The "curves" allow them to lay more naturally. They still have excess material above the obi, but not quite as much.
If you need proof, look very closely, at a high res pic of Obi-wan's tabards in ep 2 or 3. bellow the obi, the ribs in the fabric on the tabards line up very well with the edges of the tabards themselves. (there strata there) Then look above the obi, the ribs in the fabric, run right off the sides of the tabards. (there curved there)

Yes, but it's a very, very gentle curve. Just enough to make them fit better on the shoulders I think, but not enough to LOOK like a curve. And many other Jedi extras clearly have straight tabards--Anakin and Jocasta Nu are two I can think of. So, I think that even if there is a curve, it shouldn't look curved. I wonder if they had a problem with tabards slipping off and they tried to make them fit better?
The Simplicity pattern has a very noticeable curve and difference in width from top to bottom and I think that's the problem with it.

jason the curve you see is in fact that the tabbards enter the obi in one angle and go out in another angle... that is something I like. The Simplicity pattern have an awefull design well described by Ani-Chay in the previous post, and that is NOT very good looking.
N.B.: Today I wore my new tunic for picture taking at my local SW association's monthly dinner - should have pictures soon. The others liked it.
