Siri, you'd better get that skiing injury healed first!! How is it today? I've found the book... It's 48 Days to the Work You Love. Although I've heard good things about it, I've never actually read this one, but I read What Color is Your Parachute, The Great Niche Hunt, etc., about 15 years ago when I was still doing PT retail and knew I had to transition to something more substantial. We've just ordered some stuff from Amazon, so I've got a copy coming -- ultimately it has Leda's name on it, but I'm going to have a peek first. Prayers for all of those looking for the right "fit" and the right opportunity!

Wow...you guys are getting pretty deep...I don't know if I love what I do! I've never in my entire life worked anywhere but here...I started part time when I was 12 patchig sod, then I ran forklift for a few years, then I was a parts runner, then I got shipped to the office . I've worked in the office thru high school & college. I've been full time since 1994....I really don't know what else I'd do for a living anymore I do love the freedom to take all the vacation time I need in the winter (I LOVE to travel), but the summer hours do get long. Well they ressurected the Teacher in Space program... maybe they'll do a Skiier in Space next! Or when we colonize the moon, maybe they'll need some sod experts up there! You could drive the moon-buggy!!!! Now wouldn't that would be fun!

Well today I was a plumber. Tomorrow I have to go to Home Depot to get the little rubber things that go in the sink faucet... then hopefully I'll remember how to put it all back together. Note to self: never to take up plumbing as a career!

Siri-never give up on those dreams! I also REALLY wanted to be an astronaut, and have always said I'd go into space someday. Must be that childhood impact of Star Wars on me again. Some used to laugh...some still do...doesn't matter anyway, it's my dream.
I once heard someone say "Always shoot for the moon. Even if you don't make it, you'll end up among the stars!"
I hope and believe that we'll see somewhat affordable, commercial space travel in my lifetime, but I'll just keep on moving in that direction whether that's true or not.
Good luck with your shoulder. I hope it gets to feeling better so you can get back to those things you love to do!

There will be, I'm sure of it.... I'm in line! When I was five or so, I wanted to be and actress or an astronaut... hence, Jedi costuming, I suppose! LOL! I grew up with the Apollo missions!

I work as a casino dealer, I can deal Blackjack and Roulette, plus the minor games (big wheel, sic bo, pontoon etc). Haven't met James Bond yet.

Well, I'll never get to go to space but I'm hoping I can at least spend a lot of the rest of my life writing about extrasolar planets as they are discovered and cataloged.

lol! You can brush them, kind of. Their fur doesn't require it. It takes about a year to train the dreads to grown in about 1-2 inches thick. Then once they reach floor length you just let it grow, grow, grow! The hard part is washing them. These two don't like it. I suggested to their owners that they trim the dreads on their undersides and just let the hair grow loose. Stuff gets stuck to it when they do their business. YUK! So what if they don't have dreads on their underbelly. You have to be practical about it.
I took them for a walk the other day and we stopped traffic a few times. ::tires screech!:: "Look, honey! Look at the doggies with the funny fur!" "What are those? Are they supposed to look like that?" lol! What a scene. I'm surprised we didn't casue an accident. I got a few good pix of them today. I'll download them when I get home.
