I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to George Lucas, for had he not created Eps 1,2 and 3, I would not have had the desire to emulate the characters he calls "Jedi", and would never have had the motivation to learn to work a sewing machine to create a jedi costume. In turn, I would not have had the spare leather lying around, and the means to sew strips of said leather together when my 17 year old son called me from school this morning, stating he needed thirty, sturdy mobius strips by tomorrow for his physics project, and urgently begged me to help him, since he still had to finish the presentaion video, and it would likely take him all night. Hence, I have spent the better part of my unemployed afternoon cutting and sewing thirty strips of leather to become take-home mobius bracelets for his fellow students. Am I really unemployed? I think not. ;D ;D

Well, the biggest thing is that you are responsible for another person... another life... that's the hardest thing to adjust to for new moms, I think.

I was a 1st/2nd grade teacher in a very poor area of where I live. I was a teacher for 33 yrs. Wow! That's commendable! I didn't know you were a teacher.

For me what pays the bills right now, I am Software support Engineer for Oracle On Demand.
Otherwise I'm a Cub Master, weekend jazz musician and the occasional rock band, and a Rennie. This year I'm told, I'll be the kingdom sound "engineer" for all 7 stages and the joust. Also my wife and I have a home business helping people with Wellness and Weight loss.

Permit me to rephrase: "Well, the biggest thing is that you are responsible for another person... another life... that's the hardest thing to adjust to for new dads, I think."
Equally valid, I'd warrant. ~ Koda

I've been running my Pet Sitting business for 10 years now. Along with the feeding, walking, and scooping littier boxes, I also do things like this: The cats must have their "bath time" evreyday!

Xana, you wash cats? Ooooooh, dangerous work.
I'm a civilian physicist for the Dept of the Navy, which means I do a lot of computer work for modeling and simulation for...well, Navy stuff. And fortran is not dead. I wouldn't mind switching to something else, but the latest version acquired all those object-oriented functions that you used to only be able to do in C, so no one wants to switch. The lab in Panama City specializes in mine countermeasures and my department specialized in R&D for underwater mine detection sensors. It's a nice job, regular hours, reasonable bosses, but I do wish it were in a different part of the country and not in a hurricane target zone. Sun and beaches are really wasted on me. Oh, and don't get me started about NMCI, the Navy's Frankenstein-monster all-encompassing computer network ....... ......but that bit of stupidity started years ago in Washington, way above the pay-grades of anyone local.
