making an honest living is not something to be ashamed of! Unless you are a shifty used car salesman, which I'm sure you're not! lol!!!! Just never tell a customer that someone is coming tomorrow to buy the car they are interested in!!!! Dealers have tried that on me more than once (seriously!!!! ) and I just respond with "Well then I don't want to interfere with their plans, that would be mean!" The sales guy was left with nothing to say!

Leda, my sis works in the paint dept, at Lowe's (like Home Depot) here. She killed her back becuase basiclly all you do is lug around 50-gallon buckets of paint. Yes ther is some consulting and mixing going on, but most of it is hauling OMG, iI know exactly how she feels! I worked in the paint department at Lowe's too, for about 3 years, and all I did sometimes was stock boxes containing 4 gallons of paint and 50gal pails. And they have to be stocked on the top shelf, so not only do you have to lug them around, but you have to stock them at really high height and then bring them down. I didn't hurt my back thankfully, but man, stocking those 50 gal paint buckets scared me to death . I've been back in school now for about 5 1/2 years, trying to get a Ph.D. in Immunology. Hopefully only have a few more months to go ;D ;D! Not sure what I am going to do with my degree, but I hope to do research at a pharmaceutical or biotech company.

I am an industrial draftsman / designer. I currently am working for a laser cutting machine shop out of Litchfield, MI. Much better insurance benefits than where I used to be. I also started up a side business of my own doing blueprints & custom designs (i.e. machining fixtures, specialty machines, etc.). Not alot of work coming in at this point, but starting to establish a few customers. Currently assisting one of my customers in designing a gelatin slicing machine. Seriously. I really enjoy what I do. I have always been an avid gamer, so playing on the computer just fit for me.

My co-worker has a couple of chinchillas, his love a treat of raisins. They are so soft, puffballs with a skeleton, I think they're really cute. Well, those of you that know me, know that I work at a Halloween /Costume shop, which is probably about the largest year-round retail costume store in the world, no kidding, We are a long city block long, and have 2 floors. It's a very neat place, sort of part museum, and the rest is a store full of really weird stuff, as one regular customer remarked yesterday as we discussed types of severed heads, "Where else would this be a normal conversation?" So, Job 2 is as a Costumer at Halloween Adventure/New York Costumes. Job 1 at night I work in a Broadway Theatre, I'm the Head Usher at the Biltmore Theatre, I've been a Professional Usher since I moved to NYC in 1971, it's a good balence to the madness at the halloween store. Job 3. I do custom made costumes freelance, there's a pretty wide variety of those, I could probably make a living doing it, but, I kind of like the way it happens now, I don't have to depend on it, so they're a fun bonus, and pay for the cons, and toys that I regularly treat myself to, and of course, I always have an excuse to add another machine to my sewing machine collection, currently, 9, from an Antique Treadle that I learned to sew on to a computerised Bernina, which I haven't really even begun to use to it's fullest potential, I want to find the local dealer and see about taking classes on it, it's instruction manuel is bigger than some telephone books I've seen. Job wise, we're a pretty diverse bunch, it's neat to see what everybody does when not being Jedi.
