I have a tripod. I have a digital camera with a timer. So, I updated my TJA costume picture (OK, yeah, I agree; having my lightsaber blade coming out my left ear is perhaps a little undignified but I saved it for the alternate picture. )
Jedi costumes are soooooooo simple. And yet there are so many thing that can come out not looking right.
--- sleeves pulled back --- lightsaber hiding behind your tabard --- collar wrinkled --- food capsules out of line --- pants out of boots --- hips look big --- hair doing weird things --- obi bunching up
And the ever popular....
--- unflattering expression on your face.
< sigh >
I LOVE digital cameras! If it doesn't come out right....DELETE! It's miraculous. You can do all kinds of experimentation with them. And now that I've found the manual focus menus, I can make as many bad pictures as I want. Not that I'm GOOD with the manual options, but I can at least delete the excess.

lol
I just took pictures of my costume today... most of what you mention did happen at some point or another.
some you didn't mention: Flash didn't kick in (dark pic) Tabbards/tunic pulled over the obi
the weirdest... I've bought my camera recently... and I shaved a few days before.... how about loosing some part of the costume? (beard)

Aaah, I didn't have any problems with the flash at least. But the beard part of the costume can come back on it's own!

Let's not forget tabards slipping off the shoulder... If you look at my main picture, the right tabard is slightly too far to the right, because the first photo was taken with my cloak on, and I then took it off. I didn't realize the tabard had slipped until we were back home and I saw the full size image, and a 5 hours drive was out of the question for a re-shoot Another problem is with the digital cameras not always capturing the colors accurately. People have asked before if my costume is red, when it is infact brown, simply because the camera captured it as red. However, the camera on my cell phone, actually captured the color properly. Behold

My tabards are either stiched, snapped, or pinned on. Depends on the costume I decide to wear. lol! But, they aren't always straight and sometimes they cross at the bottom anyway. How about red eye? Even with the reduction, sometimes it doesn't come out right.

Ani, You mean the 'constipaited' jedi look? :-D I've seen LOTS of pics of folks with that pained look. Maybe jedi don't like cameras. <shrugs>
I have tabbords problems, but they end up heading north for some reason.as well as the tunics. I'm always doing the "Picard manuver".(Tugging them down.)

I'm confused. What's the constipated Jedi look? That serious "I'm-going-to-whoop-your-droid-butt-from-here-to-Tatooine-and-back" look? Because I may have that problem.

Jaren, It's not that look. Not as severe. Although the "I'm goinna do some butt kickin'." look isn't needed in every pic for every pose. It would look great when posing against Grevious, Palpatine or even vader. :-D"Put 'em up grevious."

Getting rid of red eye takes photoshop. I love the new removal tool in Elements.

Humm. Red eye. Erghh. I'm usually trotting around with sunglasses on because my eyes are photosnstive to bright light. And the florescant lights down right hurt them.
Things that can go wrong.. A braid getting stuck to my face. or having some hair standing all out on ends from my head. Sunglasses slidding off just enough that the eyeglasss rim is in the middle of the eyes. Con badges stuck at weird angles. Tangled lanyards. Or Lord forbid, wardrobe malfunction, you'er readjusting and someone snaps too early.

I thought Cartman's "Wardrobe Malfunction" was rather amusing...

Well, I don't think it's just Jedi who get that constipated look. But for me, the problem is usually red-eye. The red-eye reduction routines now are great, though they'll often give me the wrong eye color. And I have a big, broad, Jimmy-Carter-eque smile that used to be cute when I was younger, but not it's just scary.
Hmmm, whenever I have anything that 'rides up' it's usually because there's not enough room for my hips, even if it doesn't feel tight. Can you put in a little extra room on the side? That might help it stay in place.

Tanzan, Who is Cartman? And what was his wardrobe malfunction? Ani, My over tunics have plenty of room in the sides for free range of motion, jsut somehow it still shifts.
